I have really enjoyed studying Philosophy, particularly because of the excellent department, engaging teaching and interesting course content. The lecturers are knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects, which makes the degree intellectually stimulating. However, one drawback is that the career opportunities directly associated with Philosophy can feel quite limited, with fewer obvious graduate job prospects. Politics, in contrast, has felt less engaging academically. I have found the teaching and course content less interesting, and at times the quality and consistency of teaching could be improved. However, the degree does offer more obvious career pathways and employment opportunities, which is a significant advantage. Overall, the combination of the two subjects provides a broad education, although the experience of studying each has been quite different. read more
