First year modules are not arranged in an optimised way, after speaking to a module convener he told me that the module I wanted to stop taking because it was too confusing was originally a second semester module and it was much more effective that way because students already had the research skills necessary. I’m not surprised in that instance that I found the content and tasks difficult to follow and complete

All the History staff are really nice and you can tell that they’re all passionate about History. All the lectures are really informative and I find that discussions in seminars tend to be good. You don’t have many contact hours, and you’re expected to do lots of reading independently, although I haven’t found it to be too much. I find that the History department are really good at promoting the different careers available for History graduates. read more
