1st year, doesnt have lots of marine biology, as they use this time to get everyone up to speed on the basics of biology. So get ready to do A-Level biology again. (And dont get rid of thoses text books just yet) But this is good, because it means if after the first year, you change your mind on your course. You can sawp to another Biological science and continue it from 2nd year. You get a lot more involved and hands after 1st year. Would reccoment joining the subaqua society in 1st year, so that you have a diving qualification ready for 2nd year, or doing you BSAC or PADIs before 2nd year starts, so that the trips you go on, you can dive. (Around a out 400-500 for the courses) 2nd year had a few optional courses that cost money but are fun to do. You can get your diving qualification (beginners or advanced) and boating qualifications. However these will set you back around £800 each. When you can do them with the socities for half the price, but just no uni credit for them. read more
