Drama and English, BA Hons FullTime

A great course which I have been loving so far! All of my tutors and personal tutor has been great but it’s annoying that doing the joint honours means you miss out on some modules that could have been really beneficial to the course. Overall though it’s a great course with some good options for modules and doing the joint honours means you get the best of both worlds! read more

Drama and English, BA Hons FullTime

The Drama and English departments would benefit from closer communication and organisation in future. Otherwise, an excellent joint course with the opportunity to study and gain experience in a wide variety of modules and topics, including Technical Theatre, Physical Theatre, Theatre and Education, Stage Combat, and a professional-standard theatrical production typically staged in the main auditorium at the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre. read more

English and Creative Writing, BA Hons FullTime

Personal Tutoring sessions are very rare and if you miss it you don't really know what is going on with it and what it is for. Creative writing modules could be a bit more fleshed out, I feel like we learn and do a lot of nothing, sometimes I feel like I could have paid £300 for an online course somewhere and got more out of it. English courses are good, sometimes a bit too vague and quick though, you spend hours reading a book a week just to have an hour lecture and an hour seminar vaguely discussing it, never to speak of it again. I understand why, since if you don't write your essay on the text then it's not necessary, but surely there should be more links between the texts so that the sessions can overlap in some ways, so you dive deeper into the module and not feel so surface-level all the times, making the texts feel more significant. I know people who don't even read the texts at all, if need be they read a summary and look up some quotes, and that is enough to get by on. read more
