Finishing first Year with excitement of returning to campus to learn and study for another year. I enjoy my course alot and my modules along with my professors who teach fun but also knowledgeable aspect. I worry about the future of University of Leicester with the news of cutting down courses leaving teachers and students vulnerable and wonder if the same can happen to my course which I hope not. read more

I am studying at UoL in a post graduate biology course. I think that the uni has a lot of facilities which are good for studying, the library especially is one of the better ones I've seen. The campus has a lot of social spaces including a really good students union building and lots of areas to book for work and study. It has a huge range of societies that are generally really well run. The location is also very good in my opinion, the uni is close to city centre so its easy to find accomodation and I think leicester has a lot to do, lots of good transport links and a really good nightlife read more

It was nice tbh. The instructors are mostly really helpful and knowledgeable. The facilities are great for the most part, with prompt student support available. I do wish the group in my class was a bit more inclusive, and that there was more diversity of voices and texts in the literary modules, considering how English is no longer just the language of the West, but the lingua Franca of the world. It would be much more inclusive for students like me who come from a Pakistani (or any other, really) background, but have studied English as a first language. Especially considering that a few of the texts we studied have been translated from Greek or Latin, it should also be alright for texts from modern languages to be adapted into the courses, or at least English texts written by international authors. Additions could include postcolonial discourses, or international literature from any genre. (This is what I found most appreciable about the Environmental Literature course.) read more
