The Wi-Fi is very good for any desktop or laptop device, but is slightly unreliable for mobile devices. Accommodation is good generally but there are often problems with the locks and fire alarms. Accommodation is also very expensive, one of the most expensive I’ve seen. The facilities are good but the gym is expensive. read more

Hatfield is a relatively quiet town rather than a major student city. The university has two main campuses, College Lane and de Havilland. If you enjoy campus life, making friends through societies and having access to London, it could suit you. If you want a lively city atmosphere every day, you might find the town less exciting. read more

Don't recommend unless you only care about studying. Even though Herts SU page shows a lot of clubs, most of them are inactive or nothing going on. I once wanted to host a Tekken 8 tournament for student engagement, even that they didn't allow because it doesn't benefit them, they only care if they can make money. They boast a lot about their careers service but reality is, they only repost outdated jobs from Linkedin or Indeed, and the people there have no clue they only tell you to apply online thats it, basically useless. Internet rarely worked properly inside campus, its always laggy or disconnecting low signal even with eduroam. Hatfield is also a very quite place and nothing much happens so you will be incredibly bored and ruin your university life you wanted. read more

The university itself is very diverse through ages and races, and has a lot of on campus facilities, nice range of courses and things to do. The area in which it is in though, Hatfield, is kind of isolated and can get lonely especially if you’re staying there at accommodation. read more

I had a really positive experience studying here and would recommend the university to others. The student support services, facilities and study spaces were excellent, and I found the campus to be diverse and welcoming. The teaching was generally very good, although there was some variation between lecturers. Some were outstanding and incredibly supportive, while others were less engaging. It sometimes felt like luck of the draw, particularly when it came to dissertation supervisors. The biggest area for improvement is communication around module choices. At Master’s level, there should be much more information about module content, assessments and teaching before students are expected to choose. Better guidance would make it much easier to make informed decisions. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and would recommend the university for its supportive environment and strong teaching. read more
