Studying at the University of Essex has helped me grow both academically and personally. I enjoyed being part of such a diverse and inclusive community, where I met people from many different cultures. My course was challenging but interesting, and my lecturers were approachable whenever I needed guidance. The campus has everything students need, and I made many great memories during my time here. Overall, I'm grateful for my experience and would recommend the university to future students. read more

Overall, my experience living at The Meadows has been very positive. The location is incredibly convenient, offering a quick and easy walk to lectures and central campus facilities. The room itself feels modern, and having a small double bed is a massive upgrade over standard student housing. The communal kitchen is spacious with excellent full-sized fridge and freezer storage, and having the social pavilion and gym membership included adds great value. However, the wet-room style en-suite bathroom does feel exceptionally cramped and compact for this price tier. If the bathroom layout could be improved, it would easily be the perfect accommodation on campus. read more

Overall, I've had a really positive experience studying at the University of Essex. As an autistic student, having a welcoming and supportive environment has made a huge difference to my university journey. The campus has everything I need, the WiFi has always been reliable, and the Students' Union is one of the best parts of university life, offering plenty of events and support for students. There are a good range of clubs and societies to get involved with, and the careers service has been helpful when planning for the future. While no university is perfect, Essex has given me a comfortable place to learn, grow in confidence and become more independent, and I'm glad I chose to study here. read more

Living at The Meadows during my MSc studies at Essex was one of the quiet anchors of my time in Colchester. The Meadows offered a calm base to come back to a place to think, reset, and get on with the next day's work. Being on campus meant the libraryShared kitchens turned into unplanned conversations, and living alongside students from across the world reflected the best of what Essex is about. It became a small community during a demanding, formative year. seminar rooms, and my department were never more than a short walk away. read more
