The university is great physically, and it does provide a wide range of courses taught by professionals who know what they are doing and are passionate. I really love the social and study areas that are provided, these are one of the main perks. There’s a diverse range of places for food and drink, and the prices of these aren’t all that steep. However, the university’s priorities seem to have changed a little bit - it seems they are more focused on their appearances (as seen with the new Cavendish building) than actually student well-fare and need. This comes with an increased bus fare (from free to paid) when students already have enough to pay out; as a student with a hidden disability this honestly felt like a kick in the teeth - and when the campaign for this was launched, the student union failed to back us, which was disappointing. Not only that, but their disabilities team at the university are shocking - from my personal experiences - and do a lot of invalidating. read more

Amazing facilities across all uni buildings with each building having specialised focuses dependent on degree type. Such as new state of the art business building that is right next to most accommodations. The main building kedleston has loads of events planned there and its always lively and a nice mood across the uni. read more
