Music, BA Hons FullTime

I love my course so much. Music at Bristol gives you such a diverse range of topics to learn about, instead of just focusing on western music. It’s really good value for money. The staff are really amazing, they’re so helpful and down to earth, and they’re also really good at lectures, it’s not death by powerpoint and they don’t overload you on work. My personal tutor is a literal saint. We discuss the essay questions and ideas so you don’t feel confused or worried, she also answers her emails so quickly and sorted out some emergencies for me. The course structure and content is amazing, you learn everything from Medieval Iberian music to Bristol Hip-hop and the modules are so diverse you can learn about studio composition or transcribing old music. The music department hood “music futures” which they get in different musicians to talk about how they got into their careers and often have work experience you can get involved with.
