As I approach final year I feel prepared with the knowledge and practical skills I’ve gained, and confident in recognising my strengths and areas for improvement. The clinical demonstrators at Bristol Vet School are nothing short of outstanding and have been instrumental in my professional development. The lectures are always of the highest standard, but the format of some teaching sessions could be improved on as the facilities are not very big. read more

1st yr vet science. Mostly online with pre recorded lectures. Only in uni for like 2- 3 times a week for like 2h each. First yr is very theory based with alot of anatomy and physiology. There are a few practicals during the year at langford. The turners bus are organised to take you at a specific time but theres an extra public bus that goes between bristol and langdord. Quality of teaching depends on lecture but alot of the lectures feel like they read the pp rather than explain it. Its hard to navigate the course at first but admin is helpful. A few events organised throughout the year but alot of people stuggled with socialising. It is very demanding and its hard to keep up. I found myself using books and google alot more than the lectures. Case base lessons are really fun cause its the only clinical thing you get to do read more
