Engineering Mathematics is a truly unique, fascinating and broad course which covers an amazing variety of concepts in Engineering and Mathematics. I would recommend it to anyone. Personal tutors at the university just feel like a box ticking exercise. They don't really feel like they're there to help. I am fortunate to not have needed them for personal support, however. read more

I did a PhD in Bristol, so this refers to the PhD course, not the Undergraduate or Master. I do not have many elements to discuss about the teaching, since there are no specific courses at Bristol for PhD students, thus we had to either register at TCC or attend Master courses. But as far as research and seminars are concerned, I consider UoB as a valid place to do a PhD in Maths, with a good environment and a quite diverse range of people in the same research group. read more

in my opinion 9000£ is always too much for one year of studying (but this is a more general problem) lectures are good and you actually learn a lot, they only suffer from the high amount of stundents (sometimes over 200), lectureres explain well and are willing to help if you have any questions, tutorials (which take place in groups of six) help with any problems ou couldn't understand in lectures personal tutor: nice and approachable, has a lot of time to help you with any problems course content: common mathematic course, good, but nothing special job prospects: reputation of degree seems to be better than the actual content, proably easier to find a jb than to get the degree read more

Engineering Mathematics, MEng Hons FullTime

Extremely interesting but obviously I chose it! The Course errs on the side of Computer Science with a strong element of programming however this is mainly just to broaden your mind and make you see computers as a tool for complex simulations in the modelling modules that you will take. These Mathematical Modelling units are incredible! You receive a single question and then explore it and answer it, the beauty is that you make it as complex as you think is necessary, more complexity might allow you to model more situations but it might also be too complex for your assumptions in order to be valid. The whole essence of this course is modelling. read more
