I think I really enjoy the course however, the way maths is taught at this university is very odd and my peers are just as confused as me. I think having physics phd students teaching maths during workshops classes would be a better idea than a mathematician because of the course i am doing. Alternatively, a different approach to teaching maths for example, writing down what they are explaining instead of just saying it. Even when they are speaking their explanation is not very good and they are not able to translate their explanation very well read more

Personal tutor seems always busy. Senior tutor is way better. Online courses were from last year’s, they didn’t even make new videos. Not worth of money read more

Best part of my first year of Uni has absolutely been the course. It’s been delivered well with a very careful consideration of current circumstances. It sucks not attending lectures in person as I feel like I don’t know anyone on the course bar my lab partner and tutor group but the online lectures and videos are of high quality. I think this focus on independent learning suits me better than others however, as I’ve heard it often repeated that people lose motivation to do work. Balance between coursework and exam is good. I look forward to next year. read more

The course is intense, yet manageable. One can still find time for study whilst maintaining an active social life. I've two personal tutors, one for maths and one for physics, both are immeasurably patient and enthusiastic both about their subject and to offer help. There's no doubt over the job prospects for any physics degree, anywhere, but at Bristol you know you're attending a highly-regarded, long-standing Russell group that is consistently ranked amongst the best in the country for attracting top graduate employers. read more
