The best aspect of my course was the blended learning style, which combined in-class teaching with online resources and gave me flexibility in managing my time. Lecturers were approachable and willing to help, and the course content was practical and relevant. The worst aspect was that the workload could be quite heavy at certain times, with deadlines sometimes close together. Spreading assessments more evenly and offering more guidance during peak periods would improve the course.

Studying for my M.Sc. in Economics at the University of Birmingham has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The campus atmosphere is vibrant, with stunning architecture and the iconic Old Joe, all impeccably maintained. I loved spending time in the library, which offered excellent resources and support. The teaching and non-teaching staff were always helpful, and being part of Birmingham Business School was a highlight. The career network, particularly George and Tom, provided invaluable guidance, and the mentorship program was a game-changer. I’ve really enjoyed my course, the lectures are experts in their fields and you can really see that they are passionate about what they’re teaching which keeps the course really engaging. There’s a lot of support provided and I have weekly tutorials in small groups with my tutor these have been so useful in helping me understand and gives a great opportunity to ask specific questions about the content and the admin side of my course. One negative is there isn’t much choice in what modules I do which is abit disheartening when the modules have lined up such that I’m not that interested in any of them, however the opposite is also true where there’s been periods where I have loved everything I was studying so it’s definitely just give and take. read more
