I am incredibly grateful to Vaheed from the True Birmingham team for his assistance during my stay. As I do not own an iPhone, I ran into trouble getting a document to the apartment’s printer. I reached out to Vaheed at the front desk, and he kindly stepped in to help—using a USB drive and the front desk computer, he managed to get my urgent document printed. His warm and enthusiastic demeanor throughout the process really helped ease the anxiety I felt while dealing with an unexpected issue in a second language. Studying Digital Media and Creative Industries at UoB has been an incredibly dynamic experience, mostly thanks to how interactive and unique each lecturer is. For Digital Storytelling, the tutor uses real-time QR code polling to collect our ideas on the spot and ends every class with a fun mini-quiz to review key concepts. For Marketing, the lecturer brings a polished, commercial style—her PPT-led approach clearly stems from her rich background in business keynotes. My absolute favorite is the workshop for Creative Industries and the Law—the tutor explains complex legal rules in such an encouraging, easy-to-understand, almost 'kindergarten-teacher' kind of way, which is amazingly friendly for international students! Coupled with UoB's solid career support and vibrant industry links, this course offers fantastic real-world value and a truly welcoming environment. read more
