Studying Drama & Film has been enjoyable, however I wished there was more communication between joint honours departments to balance the weight between group assignments and individual ones.

I am incredibly grateful to Vaheed from the True Birmingham team for his assistance during my stay. As I do not own an iPhone, I ran into trouble getting a document to the apartment’s printer. I reached out to Vaheed at the front desk, and he kindly stepped in to help—using a USB drive and the front desk computer, he managed to get my urgent document printed. His warm and enthusiastic demeanor throughout the process really helped ease the anxiety I felt while dealing with an unexpected issue in a second language. The entire staff at True Birmingham is wonderful; you can choose to stay here with complete peace of mind. Once again, thank you, Vaheed—best wishes from the resident of Room 440! read more

Engaging, interactive, and deeply tailored for international students! Studying Digital Media and Creative Industries at UoB has been an incredibly dynamic experience, mostly thanks to how interactive and unique each lecturer is. For Digital Storytelling, the tutor uses real-time QR code polling to collect our ideas on the spot and ends every class with a fun mini-quiz to review key concepts. For Marketing, the lecturer brings a polished, commercial style—her PPT-led approach clearly stems from her rich background in business keynotes. My absolute favorite is the workshop for Creative Industries and the Law—the tutor explains complex legal rules in such an encouraging, easy-to-understand, almost 'kindergarten-teacher' kind of way, which is amazingly friendly for international students! Coupled with UoB's solid career support and vibrant industry links, this course offers fantastic real-world value and a truly welcoming environment. read more

I really like the atmosphere of toybox, it's very clean, very safe, and the lobby is also beautifully decorated. And there is a Chinese front desk, which is very friendly to Chinese international students. Because my English is not very good, I am very grateful to the Chinese receptionist for helping me a lot. I would like to give a special compliment to the Chinese front desk, who is very friendly and patient, and has helped me a lot. Many of the questions I didn't understand were answered by her. read more

i switched to english and film as i found creative writing extremely lacking of the experience i expected. it could be an issue to do more with the broad nature of first year but alas who knows. im far enjoying film and english now, and it might have more to do with the way i like to learn as i enjoy note taking and challenging academic ideas which creative writing does not offer. read more
