It can be very hard to get involved in activities at this university since most societies organise minimal get-togethers apart from pub crawls which many students are not interested in. Making friends doesn’t always have to be part of drinking culture, and it shouldn’t be. I find that staff on my course are detached from students, and the knowledge building culture here is at a low: being given an hour long talk from a PowerPoint and then a to-do list is not education. This uni is well funded and has many great facilities, they should be used for better. read more
