Fab med school, couldn't have asked for better. Modern teaching building, love the way the group work is structured with same group for pre-clinical years, staff/lecturers are very good on the whole & very supportive

Better experience than colleagues who have attended other medical schools. Friendly and the staff generally care about you. Student feedback is acted upon in a transparent way. Placement experiences are mixed. You are sometimes used for service provision in UHL (bloods and cannulas) rather than being taught or trained. But there are staff who take an interest in you. Just prepare to very proactive or you won't hit your learning outcomes. read more

The new centre for medicine at Leicester is excellent and modern. Teaching is a good standard with plenty of contact hours with lecturers. Issued an iPad at the beginning of the course which makes taking notes during lectures easier. Overall, I am enjoying it so far. read more

A lot crammed in, and it's like a brain marathon every day, but the staff are very helpful and the lecturers all help you to succeed. Very good pastoral care, with a dedicated pastoral care team in addition to the main university welfare support. The dedicated medical union LUSUMA is also a very good resource both for welfare, social and academic areas. read more

Medicine at Leicester is full on, difficult, and requires 200% commitment if you have any chance of making it through. Used to be able to say it would definitely be worth it - let's just wait and see what Jeremy Hunt has to say.. read more

Some lectures are good, others are taught horrifically, particularly autonomic in head and neck. No detailed feedback on your performance in the exam other than a percentage breakdown which is useless without the number of questions on each topic. Poorly timed interprofessional education. Somewhat apathetic to student opinion management. Feels like they pay lip service for the sake of appeasing the gmc but don't actually act on student feedback. read more
