No social care in a timely manner, 6 month waiting times when I had a crisis and needed help and no personal tutor who cared although I know others were lucky enough to have a good one. A split in excellent lecturers who care about their students and feedback and bad ones who are only there for research and who see student's feedback as irrelevant and carry on regardless (Engineering Department). What would have been good is more practical experience in learning FEA and CFD software earlier in the course to prepare engineers better for industry and their projects. (I had to learn CFD myself for my final project and was then taught it in an excellent Master's course later on which would have been beneficial earlier) read more

The department still needs to invest more in facilities and more hands on teaching. Also the teaching quality ranges from excellent lecturers to a few who confuse the subject matter for many students and don't answer questions well when asked. There have only been a few instances in my course where a lecturer has shown why it is useful in industry to know about a certain subject, which would massively increase students motivation to learn, rather than just for learning's sake. read more

Although there are great opportunities within the engineering department. The organisation of said department is not great. With timetables coming out late and sometimes incorrect, it is only worth joining if you are good at pushing yourself and for improvements yourself. read more

Really enjoying it, wish I'd worked harder before exams, I'm stressing out right now. Only criticism is all the practical stuff is left till after exams, which means no hands on during the year and you have to say for 2 weeks after the exam period. There's also an oddity, and you can take positives and negatives from it, semester 1 starts late, finish quiet early. Then the same with semester 2. This does mean you get longer Christmas and Easter holidays. However this means Uni doesn't finish until towards the end of June. read more
