We get weekly emails about careers opportunities e.g. placements and there’s also a student team that run academic sessions on CV building/how to get placements. I find most lectures engaging but when they’re pre-recorded online which one of my modules was wholly like this I found it harder to be involved with and interested in the content. read more

To be honest, going to the University of Leeds for my Masters (Bioscience) was the worst decision I have made academically. The Faculty of Biological Science is a complete shambles causing delays in feedback, and is rife with miscommunication. If you complain, it goes nowhere and meeting with the head of course was terrible as I was doing well and therefore had my complaint dismissed. The stress this course gave was unbelievable and don't get me started about applying for mitigation. Even with medical evidence, they don't approve mitigation despite a GP advising why it should be granted. The whole course was a disgrace leading to me leaving with nothing. I would strongly suggest that people choose a different university. read more

Overall a great course! Its broad in your first year so if you don't know what to do with your life like me its great, but you can narrow it down so much in your second year that if you do its great too! I applied for Med Sci but I'm so glad I didn't do it as people on this course are lovely and you go into more details in our modules. Value for money... Better than most I think as you have 3hr labs most weeks and a mix of lectures, PBL, seminars etc. And good contact with your tutor but it's uni so it's still a rip off. Staff are great with mitigating circumstances and support. Being able to do a year in industry is also a bonus! read more
