University of East Anglia (UEA)

Pretty mediocre university located in a small city which can become very isolating quickly. The campus has a fairly large SU for its size and I think it puts too much effort into it rather than individual course teaching quality. The LCR is nothing to write home about, and they really hike up the prices of drinks for the students compared to other places. The university has suffered severe financial losses and has built up a lot of debt in the last few years so will be interesting to see how it plans out. The university also seems to take advantage of international students, especially those who study in INTO into legally binding contracts that are hard to avoid, and seems to provide poor quality education for the price they pay. The quality of education through lectures and seminars can be very hit and miss, with some lecturers having very poor levels of english and can be hard to understand. The library is very nice though, and props to the postal room staff who are great read more

I've been really enjoying my time at UEA so far. If you're looking for a well-respected University in a low-key, but still interesting and exciting environment with plenty to do, I would highly recommend the University of East Anglia. They have a wide selection of courses ranging from medicine to humanities (not to mention, Matt Smith studied Drama and Creative Writing here). read more

The uni is huge, but loads of signage and maps available to students. Timetable system has been a bit of an mess this year but has improved. Teaching is good and ample support available to you. Lots of places to eat :). Easy to book library spaces. read more

The uni has a lovely surroundings. The facilities for lectures and sports on campus are great. However, the price of the accommodation is way too high for what we are given. The political stance of the SU is ridiculous banning military representation such as wearing uniform on campus during remembrance. read more
