The library is open 24 hours. There is a train station on campus, and it takes 10 minutes to reach the city center. Birmingham is the second largest city in the UK. There are numerous Chinese restaurants, Chinese Super League matches, and Asian supermarkets. The cost of living is 30% lower than in London. The campus is safe. It's reassuring to walk back to the dormitory at night. The administration can be a bit slow, and it takes patience to reply to emails. During peak hours, there are limited seats in the library, and some old classrooms have outdated facilities. read more

I have been at the University of Birmingham for 2 whole semesters now! I can confidently say that I have really enjoyed my time here. The campus is genuinely a beautiful place in ALL seasons and the atmosphere in and around is genuinely so lively and fun. There's a large selection of accommodations in the area each having scenic and convenient places to study, shop and eat depending on what you prioritise. Fun Facts about the Unniversity of Birmingham: 1) Old Joe - Our clocktower is the tallest standing in the world! 2) We're the only university in the world with its own university ran train station! 3) Monsters University is loosely based off the design of the University of Birmingham AND the clocktower in the Lord of the Rings 4) Usain Bolt trained at the campus and stayed in Edgbaston before the 2012 Olympics Isn't that cool? read more

A really good university, wasn't expecting to like it so much since it was my last choice but I'm so glad I'm here. It's such a green campus and feels a world away from the city but is only a 7 minute train away! Genuinely the best of both worlds. The facilities (for maths at least) are pretty fantastic, and there's tons of academic and career support. read more

University wasn't my first option as I initially planned to get a degree apprenticeship, yet the limited apprenticeship opportunities in digital media and marketing meant that I had to go for my second option (uni). Yet I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with my experience so far at the University of Birmingham. The campus feels safe, the people there are friendly and the facilities are endless! It has made me realise that everything happens for a reason and sometimes your first option isn't always the best one. That being said I would definitely recommend the University of Birmingham to anyone looking to do a degree. read more
