Chemical Engineering (with Foundation Year and Optional Year in Industry), BEng Hons FullTime

As a second-year chemical engineering student, I’ve found Teesside’s program to be a good mix of hands-on learning and real-world prep. The labs are fantastic—we get to use industry-standard tools like Aspen HYSYS and MATLAB, and the lecturers (most of them, anyway) genuinely want you to succeed in your career.Sure, some courses feel a bit too theory-heavy or disorganised; for example, when I asked about thermodynamics, heat transfer & fluid mechanics, and mass & energy balance, I got negative feedback about how hard it is, but after experiencing the subjects, I won't say it's easy, but with the amazing lecturers and support and studying hard, it helped to overcome it and get good grades.The university’s ties to local energy giants, such as BP and SABIC, mean internships and networking are actually within reach, and I got the chance to visit the SABIC site.
