Very interesting course that leads straight to a job in the NHS. When starting the course we were told everyone would get a job in wales. Now it is looking like around half the course are unable to find a job after graduation. Nhs funded so good value for money as course is free. Placement can feel disorganised and when first start placement it is unclear what is expected of the students. Placement itself though is generally very enjoyable and lots is learning in practice. read more

GEM at Swansea, pre-COVID was the best medical school in the UK. Since COVID, the medical school struggled to organise itself, but they did their best. However, the overarching university decided to adjoin the medical school with the rest of the life sciences which are entirely different degrees all together. They also moved members of the administration team who’d been doing the job well for years with 12 or so of them on the team elsewhere. They were replaced with about 4 new administrators who had no idea how to do the job and the medical, nursing, paramedicine and physicians associate students have all suffered as a result of this. I still believe it’s a good medical school in the grand scheme of things in the way in which the course is run, but it’s nowhere near as good as it used to be. read more

The course is generally very good at making me feel prepared for the future. They need more resources for the number of students that now attend as we do compete for placements and learning opportunities since the increased cohort size. read more

THIS IS FOR MSC NANOMEDICINE COURSE, WAS NOT AN OPTION IN THE COURSE LIST. THIS IS NOT FOR PHYSCIAN ASSOCIATE STUDIES- An amazing course to take. The lectures are all so nice and supportive, the assignments are interesting and teaches you skills which you can apply to future jobs. There is lots of support and everyone on the course had got to know eachother well as it is a nice size group. The final project is chosen by ourselves and there is an array of subjects you can cover, depending what interests you most. read more

Great course, spiral curriculum, well organised, early placements. Tutors very friendly. Want us to succeed and are on our side (not against us). Accommodating for personal circumstances or difficulties. Very supportive. The university buildings are kinda old, but I studied from home mostly. Placements varied all around Wales. Overall great course and university. read more

It is a hard degree however if you buckle down and do what you are meant to do then you'll be able to make progress through out the degree. There are amazing opportunities in the practical experiences and those self directed learning opportunities are also very valuable in personal growth read more

Poorly ran, dismissive senior staff, not accessible, great tutoring from GP tutors and anatomy is second to none. Teaching otherwise is very mixed. As it’s medicine, job prospects are obviously going to be good in terms of getting the NHS roles. read more

In general apply Medical Science course it can be nice but it's also really tasking and stressful and a lot of work, assignments and crtical analysis essays. It's just a lot to process at the same time but if you're dedicated and you really want to do it then you should be able to like pull through although I do think it needs more coursework but there's nothing really bad about it. read more
