Biology, BSc Hons FullTime

The teaching quality really does depend on the courses that you decide to take, some courses are better than others. My personal tutor was amazing and you can build that relationship with them throughout the degree as they stay with you for the 3 years. The labs were always interesting and could even take the whole day in some second year courses so if you want to go into research, they were really good. The best part of the degree is the flexibility as , compared to biomed or ecology, you have the least compulsory courses and so you can really tailor your degree to what you like. The other great part is the final year project (not a dissertation) where you investigate an area chosen by the tutor you are with (you do pick it though its not random) and you write a 6000-8000 word report on your work. It sounds like a lot but honestly it was the highlight of my degree. read more
