In the run-up to A Level results day, the rumours were flying: grade boundaries were going to be sky-high, the marking would be tougher than ever, and everyone was bracing for disappointment. But when the envelopes were finally opened, relief turned to joy for thousands of students. In fact, top A Level results have risen again, with 28.3% of grades marked at an A* or A. From quiet smiles to full-volume celebrations, these are some of our favourite reactions from this year’s results day — proof that hard work will always pay off.
