Being a student at the Aldgate campus, I feel like my experience is a little different and less focused on than those of the Highbury and Islington campus. The campus at Aldgate is generally smaller, with less social interaction, clubs and gatherings, less facilities and less staff to help for problems. I know for some people it is pretty difficult to get to the Islington campus, and so being made to go there for things like meetings, events etc. is difficult. From what I understand and have tried researching, there are no societies at London met to share interests and hobbies, though I might be wrong since the page doesn’t work. Everything else is pretty good, though I think the main thing to change would be doing larger events that would normally be held in the Islington campus to be held at Aldgate more since it feels a little neglected. Things and events that could be tailored for people at the Islington campus could be held in the other and vice versa. read more

My experience at university has been very disappointing. Unfortunately there were little to no societies to join which as a first year made it nearly impossible to make friends. Everybody else in my course has dropped out due to the terrible teaching and facilities available to us, meaning I am the only person in my year to graduate my course. I have tried top reach out to the university and the SU and have not been supported at all. read more

The facilities are nothing to gloat about however every staff member and lecturer I have met were incredibly helpful and supportive when I was in need of assistance. The lecture rooms at times may be very tight in relation to the number of students attending however it’s not bad. All students are very diverse in ethnicity, religion, and more. It provides the university with a good feeling as it allows to meet new people and understand different cultures. The lectures fluctuate in quality depending on the lecturer or the method of approach. Some lecturers bring life into lectures through humour, interesting facts, engagement with the students, and more. However sometimes these lectures can also feel dragged out at times causing loss of energy and willingness to learn. But this is partially lessened in effect as breaks are provided midway through. Overall not a bad experience in that regard. The facilities are serviceable for what the student may need. read more
