My overall experience at LJMU has been positive in terms of campus life. The facilities are modern, the study spaces are great, and the university environment feels welcoming. Clubs and societies are well organised and make it easy to meet new people, and the Students’ Union runs regular events for everyone. However, as an EU/international student, I’ve struggled with financial support. When my Student Finance maintenance loan was cancelled, I wasn’t eligible for emergency accommodation or larger financial help. The only support available to me was a one-off £300 hardship fund, which didn’t cover much of what I needed at the time. I wish there were clearer systems or more guidance for EU students facing financial difficulties, because it can be extremely stressful when you’re new to the country. Apart from that, the WiFi and campus services have been reliable, and academically, the university is strong. read more

I was in between going to Manchester Met and LJMU, and I'm so glad I chose to study in Liverpool. Although I'm only in 1st year, I've loved it so far and the city has been so fun to explore. I made friends super easily in my class and all of my lecturers are supportive and helpful. There's lots of places to study and relax with friends or on your own, there's always help when you need it and joining societies is a must! I met so many amazing people through them and there's always events on. The only down side is that I'm having so much trouble connecting to the uni wifi 😭 There's guides on how to do it but for some reason it's just not working for me. read more
