I’ve had such a great experience staying at Beaverbank Place. The staff are always friendly, helpful and quick to help whenever you need anything. I also really like how they put on lots of little events and activities for residents, which makes it much easier to meet people and feel part of the community. My experience at Heriot-Watt University has been very positive overall. Studying here has given me the opportunity to learn in a diverse and international environment, meet people from different backgrounds, and develop both academically and personally. The university provides good learning facilities, helpful academic resources, and a supportive environment for students. The lecturers and supervisors are knowledgeable, and I especially appreciated the practical approach to learning, where many modules encouraged us to apply what we learned through projects, research, and real-world problem solving. Leaving home and moving abroad to begin a new chapter of life was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made. Looking back, choosing Heriot-Watt University has been one of the best decisions of my life. From day one, every member of staff has made me feel safe, heard, and supported. Even when I wasn’t aware of a challenge, someone was always there to guide me with care and practical solutions. The on-campus GP service is accessible during emergencies, and wellbeing support, including professional psychologists and drop-in conversations, is readily available. The tutors genuinely care about students and are always willing to help. The beautiful campus, surrounded by nature and home to Oriam, provides an inspiring environment to learn and grow.
