Beechcroft is nice and I didn't have any problems with my room etc but I know others who have had damp problems and serious mould issues. When something is broken the caretakers tend to tell you to fix it yourself (washing machine, showers, toilets and freezers). But that isn't even the worst of it. The live-in wardens are power hungry c***'s who have no respect for others and the student accom leader, Matt, should look into hiring different people. Everyone that works here are unapproachable except from some wardens T and B who are actually quite nice. This can be proven by: theres an upstairs and downstairs common room and everyone who drinks together will stay up late being loud in the downstairs common room so they don't p*** off the upstairs wardens. The downstairs wardens are T and B. overall Beechcroft is alright and it has a nice forest next to it for walks and stuff like that but the people that work there should be fired.

Beechcroft isn't great. The landlord is exactly how you'd expect him to be; A landlord. He isn't helpful, he doesn't really treat tenants like adults and makes them feel like they shouldn't be there. One student supposedly got blamed for a stench of cannabis which he wasn't even responsible for. As for kitchens, my hall was disgusting, and nobody cleared up after themselves (not an issue with the property) and the kitchens and living spaces all feel like they've got slime seeping from the walls. It's not a nice place to live by any means, and even though the price point is lower it doesn't make up for how clinical the whole space feels. White and grey walls and tile carpets really don't make you feel great about being here and the only outdoor spaces being the constantly messy and wet(???) smoking cage despite being in a more natural location was quite disappointing. Be aware that if you plan on staying here, the corridors carry so much noise it can be unbearable.

Beechcroft is okay for some people who like to socialise and get to know the other students that study different subjects. The caretakers are lovely people to be around, always great to see them walking about. I've had an issue with the ovens turning off earlier than 11. The walls are a little damp.

This was my first time living in student accommodation and even i know that this is NOT how your suppost to do student accommodation. The kitchens, showers and toilets are all absolutely disgusting, you get the cleaners walking into your room without a care if your indecent, the wardens are all power crazy, incredibly rude, judgmental people who have no idea what they are doing half the time, are no help to anyone, break all the rules themselves, and love to give people grief over the tiniest things, threatening that they will write reports resulting in us getting evicted, for absolutely no reason. If you are a new NUA student, take this warning and DO NOT LIVE HERE. this is not how you want to kick off your university life, you will have an awful year living here and it will effect your ability to complete your course work. the rent you have to pay is basically a robbery and NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. Once again, do not live here, go private, like i wish i did.

For all the students applying to live at Beechcroft. Heres a bit of a caution. Don't let the woods (household heath) distract you, There are plenty of other parks to go to for walks. If you're moving to Beechcroft for that, then I wouldn't recommend you to stay there. The reason why I put Hall Management as a 1 star, is because NUA hires students to be wardens. They are unprofessional and very rude individuals. I could go far and say at least two of them are avaricious. They make you feel uncomfortable when there present as they walk around in packs which they're too afraid to even interact with anyone else in Beechcroft other than them selfs and others who suck up to them (which would be the wardens in the upcoming academic years) I would Advise Matt, Who is the accommodation officer to look closely into who he's hiring as wardens and wouldn't just take the recommendation from the other wardens. and I take the complaints towards them seriously, as this is a professional matter.

over priced and depressing. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything your neighbour gets up to. there is damp in some of the rooms. the ovens gets turned off at 10.30 which means if you finish uni late and have to walk back (which takes 35 mins) you could have only 45 mins to cook your dinner.
