This accommodation was my third choice i didn't want to stay here! Stayed here as a kcl student and as I am reaching the end of my first year, I can definitely say living here hasn't been great. My flat was so anti-social! Problems with facilities like rust all over the bathroom floor, parts of the oven not working etc etc. Layout of accommodation makes socialising really really hard, so if you have bad flat mates like me... not great! Furthermore, the company that runs the accommodation, Unite Students began renting out short stay rooms for random people as if it were a hotel! This might not matter to some people but it directly breaches the contract with my uni. New Cross is fine and not too far from central. But PLEASE its definitely worth paying the extra 10/20 quid for something far nicer.
Not a good place for student midwives or nurses as they have a fire alarm that constantly goes off in your room each week, meaning if you had a night shift there is not a chance that you will be getting any rest. Alongside this they have staff that will just enter your rooms and building work going on right next door from as early as 7:30 in the morning. The rooms are freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer there's no in between
As international who live as home student flatmate is really a bad idea. They love to party and speak loud as if they rent the whole flat for themselves. Moreover, this student acomodation is not appropriate for postgraduate at all. Management handle a complain for broken equipment quite slow. The best thing in ewen henderson is the price.
It may look like a S***hole when you arrive and don't get me wrong, it is. But the social experience there was much better than the other King's Halls. Because you're in Zone 2 you tend to get a zone 1-2 travel card which forces you to explore London much more than others did. Also, it is much bigger than other King's halls so socialising in other people's kitchens was a very common thing. Overall if you do go here don't be disappointed like I first was, I and everyone I know there loved it.
Not the best halls but socially very good and not too far from Guy's Campus, quite a trek to Strand though. Facilities not really worth the price considering the location as well, and management can be a bit of a mess at times although people who work at reception are nice
