I study in ambleside. My halls were in Lancaster. It's self explanatory
No cleaning. No wifi. We had a leak in our ceiling and it was never properly fixed, just covered up.

rooms are damp smelling, constant noise of doors opening and closing into the building, very thin walls and ceilings so you can hear every conversation, movement and the deeds being done! Security staff are brilliant now the nasty one has been sacked! A very high number of burglaries occurring on ground floor flats, if you want to park your car you can't park it on the car park if you live in and you're not allowed a permit so have to park on a street which is quite rough and a dark walk up to the flats at night. Kitchen inspections every week expect it to be pristine. Not a very good place to live. Lots of things go missing out the flat too.
The halls are basic, good enough for the money. there's no common room - just a communal kitchen per flat. each flat has 7 rooms and between them and in that there is 2 toilets, one shower and one bath to share. the security of the halls is terrible - there were two burglaries the past 2 weeks. the facilities in the halls are also rubbish - oven looks about 50 years old and the fixtures and fitting are falling apart
