Okay value for money if you like living with a large amount of people. Staff pretty lacking however, and repairs/cleaning minimal unless you continuously pester them. Lift was broken after first day of moving in and remained broken for a month and a half after. Right on campus though, but only really handy if your lectures are in New Adelphi
Living at Adam Smith is quite simply an incomparably amazing experience! Here is what I particularly enjoyed: 1. This place is basically a neverending sesh! 2. My kitchen mates make me free food all the time 3. Everyone who lives here is lovely and very good looking 4. Cleaners clean my kitchen everyday. It like having a mum that actually loves me!!! 5. All the other showers are s***, but mine works great 6. Did I mention the sesh? 7. 100% seagull proof
The cleaners are godsend. I am not sure if I would exchange a cleaner for a bigger room or a bigger window, simply because uni kids are filthy and they will not clean anything themselves. I dislike fun and loud people, therefore I did not have that great social experience as the party people did. Internet works great with Steam, drops or slows down once in a while, porn is blocked.
Unlike most university halls of residence, Adam Smith consists of students from as young as 17 and upwards, as well as people from all over the world. This vast variety of people helps you understand many different societies whilst making friends for life. The location isn't close to the campus but that can also be seen as a good thing as it means it is less strict on noise.
If you're coming to Aberdeen Adam Smith is by far the best halls (as long as you don't mind sharing toilets). Before I came I wanted to be in a flat but it's honestly so much easier to make friends in Adam Smith cause there's so many more people in one space. Rooms are bigger than the ones in South House and Hector Boece who both pay more (and we get cleaners which they don't). Met some of the best people here and have had some of the best parties in the TV room.
