Overall, I had a positive experience at the university. The facilities are excellent, the campus is beautiful, and the learning environment is supportive. While I felt the campus was less diverse than some other UK universities, the staff were approachable and helpful. Building close friendships took some time, but overall I enjoyed my experience. read more

Durham is an outstanding university with great infrastructure available for current and prospective students, as well as alumni! The collegiate system provides for ample opportunity to carve out a budding social life, alongside college and university wide sports teams and societies offered various options to get involved in either your college or wider university community. In terms of accommodation, students are offered various choices of catered, non-catered or mixed halls depending on their chosen college alongside many halls offering affordable en suite options. Durham has been a great university for me both socially and academically with staff and faculty providing great student support. The campus itself allows students many different university buildings for being able to study with some wonderful cafes and communal areas and private study rooms. read more

Facilities, especially the Law School building, were satisfactory. Other facilities available for student use (only on weekends) include the Business School, which was large and modern. The university is functionally well-equipped, but in a more informal sense there is an unspoken culture of social segregation between international students and home students. read more

Durham University's intercollegiate system is extremely helpful for making new friends when you first move in, especially for international students like me who have come a long way to be in the UK. Within your college, you'll be able to meet fellow students who may share the same hobbies and interests as you, and it is very easy to integrate into the system. You can join societies, sports teams and even your Junior or Middle Common Room, which host a variety of events throughout the year to make your college and university experience more enjoyable. The university also has an amazing campus and facilities are top notch and well maintained, and the lecture halls are especially nice. I've been here all three years and I've always been accepted by many people and have made tons of friends. My college staff are also incredibly helpful people so there's nothing to worry about if you're coming to Durham! read more
