Required subjects for Biological Sciences BSc Hons at Durham University
Must include two science subjects, one of which must be Biology or Chemistry or Human Biology. Psychology, Maths and Geography are all considered sciences for the purposes of admissions. Although PE is accepted as a third A-level, it is not a science for the purpose of admissions
Applicants taking Science A-levels that include a practical component will be required to take and pass this as a condition of entry. This refers only to English A Levels.

Being an international student and paying international fees obviously makes it difficult to truly determine the value of the course from a financial perspective, but overall I've had so much fun with my degree. All the lecturers are incredibly passionate at what they do and teach, and are extremely approachable. We don't have personal tutors but we do have academic advisors and it does depend on who you are assigned to, but mine has been really kind and helpful throughout my three years in university. The course is very competitive to get in and the content is very rich. It's dense and difficult but also challenges you to think critically and it's amazing how much you get to learn about biology. I do recommend this course for anyone who is even remotely curious about it. After all, majority of us are very curious and passionate people! read more
