Entry requirements for Engineering and Engineering at Derby College
Entry requirements are the formal requirements students need to meet to be considered for a place on a university course. But, each year many universities accept students with lower grades. The bar chart below shows the actual UCAS tariff points of students currently on this course.
Required subjects for Engineering (Top Up) BEng Hons at Derby College
All applicants will be invited to an interview to discuss their qualifications, experience and any other related issues.
You will need to be employed and have permission from your employer to undertake this programme.
You should have one of the following:
•The FdEng Integrated Engineering (Sheffield Hallam University)
•A Foundation Degree from another university in a relevant field
•A HND in an engineering field at Merit level
You will also need:
•GCSE English and Maths grades A*- C.
International students will need to demonstrate the minimum IELTS score identified for this course in English, in addition to having a successful interview. Please contact the College for more information.

Derby College
My experience at this university has been overall positive. The academic environment is supportive, and most professors are knowledgeable and approachable. The curriculum is well-structured and provides both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure, which has helped me develop important academic and professional skills. The campus facilities are adequate, and there are various opportunities for students to participate in extracurricular activities, workshops, and events. While there is always room for improvement,especially in administrative efficiency and infrastructure—the university offers a good learning environment and prepares students well for future career opportunities. read more
