French and Portuguese, BA Hons
By Becktoria On 7th July 15I love my course. I mean it's obviously not value for money because we're not paying £9k a year for chairs, tables, and books; we don't need fancy science equipment or owt like that. But the course itself is brilliant, the optionals are really varied and there's really something for everyone. When you do a lang degree, you get so much more than just the language, you can learn about history, literature, philosophy, economics, linguistics, pretty much anything you want if you word your essay titles right. I picked up Portuguese from scratch, and cannot fault the course or its teacher, Julia Kelly, in the slightest bit. I am astonished with the progress I made and how much I enjoyed something that was so hard to begin with. I put 3* for job prospects because I'm a pessimist and I live with condescending scientists who pretend they're so much better than me and it's rubbing off.
