Compared to other courses e.g natural sciences/ languages not value for money in terms of resources spent such as no trips, disappointing options for study abroad.

I went to DMU last year and can honestly say that University of Leicester is superb in comparison. The standard of teaching is superb and the facilities are excellent. They have now introduced a scheme where lectures are now recorded onto a online database , so you can go back and listen to the lecture anytime if you missed anything, I think this is possibly one of the best things

3 hours a week, lecturers are not top quality. Lecture slides are dull. Not many on course so good for interaction. Lots of reading set in own time. No designated time with personal tutor

I only put 3 stars for value for money because I generally don't have much contact time, but I do also understand that my course is a lot of independent study. That said, the contact hours I do have- the content is so interesting and the teaching is engaging! As for jobs, Leicester's Criminology dept. do a pretty good job at providing you with a careers fair relevant to your degree! There is also a module you take which introduces you to possible career paths and thats where I've found my current career path.

The modules are very interesting, with plenty of options in year 3. The teaching has been consistently high throughout my three years. I've particularly enjoyed the choice of assignment questions or topics.

Just brilliant, the best in the country in my opinion. The department and its members are such brilliant human beings which so much wisdom to impart.
