Modern Languages and Culture, BA Hons

The Spanish and Italian departments are amazing! The Italian staff above all are always very engaging, very bubbly and will help you in any way they can. The language classes are generally quite engaging, again helped by the teachers' enthusiasm, and everyone is supportive of each other. The culture modules are quite interesting, there's a good range of different options you can choose from with is great, however the work load can sometimes get a bit heavy so keeping on top of things is a must!

I loved my time at Durham. The tutorials were small but great. I was very well prepared for the job market and have used my languages regularly since leaving. I miss the town and its cobbled streets, college parties, formal dinners and great social life.

Some of the best teachers ever. You get one on one time with your tutors and learn not only about the language, but also the culture and the people of each nation or group of nations in some cases.
