Much worse than I expected, please do not go here!! The campus is quite small and in much need of renovation. The buildings are so worn out and old, the least they could do is repaint the walls. It really makes you wonder what the university is doing with all the money they earn from us. The lecturers are okay, majority of them just read out from PowerPoint slides so they don’t really help much. The people that go here are super weird so you end up preferring to not talk to them and be alone. It’s hard to meet new people too because everyone mainly commutes. The university campus is really inconveniently located, it isn’t even in the main high street town, it’s a 20mins walk to get there. Everything from the campus is so far. Alongside this, you’re an hour away from central london so travelling gets a bit tiring and expensive. The social life is the worst, there’s nothing to do nearby with friends. The town itself is a bit sketchy, doesn’t feel that safe even during the day. read more

Brunel is not student oriented at all. I am currently doing a Msc in Psychology and I wish I had never enrolled at Brunel’s. You have lecturers for each module and markers, who contradict each other on what they expect from you. The lecturer gives you instructions, which are then penalised by the marker. However, according to lead tutors you cannot appeal academic judgements! For mature students with children, forget your Summer break as their schedule is worked for the convenience of lecturers rather than students. They have weekly assessments, which you can do and submit for feedback. This would be helpful if the feedback was consistent across lecturers and markers. They also have a system of pre recorded lessons in addition to online lecturers, which helps making some material easier to understand. read more

Great uni and really good location. Close enough to London that traveling in is easy but far enough out that you don't have unnecessarily high living costs. read more

I have enjoyed my last few years living on campus at Brunel university however they do lack in some areas. The student union is indeed of a total revamp and the maintenance people and cleaners need to have a better attitude towards their jobs as they come across very hostile especially when asked to be quiet when people are doing exams! However, regarding student welfare ect I believe that Brunel have been very accommodating and are very vigilant when a student is in danger. read more

Decent UNI. Studying EEE. Massive variation in terms of tutors some are helpful some are useless. A few lectures were annoying, because we had PHD students as a lecturer felt that they didn’t teach and just read from the board. One PHD always went off on tangent he got replaced very late in to the term so whole class went into an exam very underprepared. Replacement teacher refused to reteach what the other tutor didn’t. Very annoying as you don’t pay £9K for their mishaps. Other than this it’s okay. Most Facilities are good although EEE Labs are a bit dated. But the lab operators are amazing and friendly. At the end of the day you always have to self teach especially when teachers aren’t that great so I guess that was a benefit in a weird way. Library is excellent. I joined BRES and Brunel racing which are very good Clubs. read more

I completed my undergrad at Brunel in 2020 and was the best time of my life. Brunel's one campus design really helps you get around even at night with no fear and is great for social events too. The lecturers at Brunel take great pride in what they teach and ensure their students understand the subject matter. read more

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO ACTUALLY LEARN OR GET GOOD GRADES. I'm in computer science they advertise 12 hour weeks but my timetable barely averages 9, most of your work is marked by your tutor and each tutor wants wildly different things so make sure your work is tailored to your tutor, but be careful brunel will change your tutor at will even a week after a deadline then your new tutor marks your old work and shreads everything the old tutor advised, and don't expect any kind of experience from your tutor as they range anything from a senior lecturer to a PhD student who most didn't even come from a computer science undergrad so it's complete luck. Then there's the group work be prepared to have your grades dragged through the ones that want a free ride because you will have to do their work for them aswell. And once all of that is done pray that your tutor bothers to actually read your work, cos mine didn't every comment is wrong so now have to appeal my grade. Campus is ok. . . read more
