The overall course was fun and I enjoyed my time however. The university focuses more on the bigger picture. Getting hired by the big names and industry people rather than also giving the people who want to succeed on a smaller level more support and options. Overall the university standpoints and the lecturer standpoints are very different. read more

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Studying at Birmingham City University has been a great experience for me. The lecturers are supportive, the classes are practical, and the learning environment is welcoming. As an international student, I felt comfortable from the beginning because the university provides good support and helpful resources. The campus has modern facilities, including excellent libraries and study spaces. I also appreciate the opportunities to develop skills through workshops, career services, and extracurricular activities. Overall, I am happy to be a student at BCU. I would recommend Birmingham City University to anyone looking for a friendly, diverse, and career-focused university in the UK. read more

Courses , lectures and facilities are well but the student services is the worst. If I had a request related to attendance, the team gave me an email address to raise a query where I get a response after a month and the problem was never resolved. read more

Overall, I have had a positive experience at university. I have learned not only academic and technical skills but also how to manage my time, work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to a new environment. The experience has helped me become more confident and has given me a clearer idea of the career path I want to pursue in technology. There are always areas where the university experience could be improved, but overall, I am grateful for what I have learned so far and I am looking forward to continuing my studies and making the most of the opportunities ahead. read more

As a PG student studying towards a PhD, I am finding supervision of my research very helpful. However, regarding professional development and opportunities after the PhD, I am finding that I am having to do my own research, with little to no guidance on options or pathways. There is no specific careers service for PG researchers, and I rely on asking direct questions to gain answers. read more

BCU is fantastic in terms of the staff and course content. The Sociology undergraduate degree is thoughtfully planned, engaging, interesting and the modules compliment each other. However the staff are the true asset with every lecturer willing to go above and beyond to support students academically and holistically. Every lecturer I've had has been engaging, helpful and knowledgeable. The campus Is well designed and modern however lacks the feel of a traditional University in that it is a large building rather than a campus with grounds and a specific identity. This probably can not be helped with a new build (the Perry Bar campus felt more like a University) and they have done a good job at creating a space that is modern and efficient, if not lacking some soul. The cafeteria serves delicious and reasonably priced food and the staff working on campus are all delightful and add to the experience. read more

- Campus/facilities: I do think that the campus and facilities are a little bit more than average because if the: . 24/7 library which is pretty big and has a lot of books from many/each departments to help the students and a lot of space for students to sit. Especially since they built more space for us to sit in this year which was nice. . They have the court rooms and the tv’s around the campus which is a nice touch for the law students and the tv’s are nice for some comfort while waiting for your next class. . Also, the new pods that they’ve put in the university are really cool and private which is nice for people who don’t really want outside noise in their ears. Clubs + societies: there are a lot to choose from which I really like. I do think some of them are quite pricey for me as someone who is not financially stable but I think that just depends on the level of finance you have because for some others who are also on the same wavelength as me finance wise, it’s not that bad. read more

We need better security control in libraries for noise control. And better cleaning services for the chairs and carpets. I love the way there is a big grassland park area just straight out of the campus buildings. A very good relaxing space. I wish canteen provide more diverse food. Society groups should promote more activities that help students engage in sportsmanship, combined projects from different faculties. read more

The campus has a welcoming atmosphere, and there are plenty of clubs and societies to get involved in, making it easy to meet new people and develop new interests. The Students’ Union is well organised, supportive, and always hosts enjoyable events throughout the year. The careers team is fantastic, offering valuable advice on placements, CVs, and graduate opportunities. The Wi-Fi is reliable across campus, which makes studying and completing assignments much easier. The lecturers are approachable, and the university provides excellent support for students. Overall, BCU is a great place to study, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering higher education. read more
