I have just finished my undergraduate degree in psychology/child psychology. UEL is bar FAR the MOST shocking university there is. They are UNORGANISED, the teaching is PATHETIC, I taught myself EVERYTHING I know. Their support for students is DIABOLICAL!! You will NEVER get a response from ANY emails you send. I learnt ZERO from this university. Their dissertation module is a SHAMBLES. I would not recommend to ANYONE!!!!! Do NOT waste your time, money or application to this university. They are COMPULSIVE liars. There is NO duty of care for their students and they DO NOT understand MENTAL HEALTH. Please AVOID WITH ALL COSTS!!!!! read more

I’m in my final year and it’s been an amazing course. Tutors are down to earth and have time for their students unlike some higher ranked universities. I am not the smartest and found this course incredibly easy with multiple choice questions mostly and ‘seen’ exam questions so all I had to do was memorize the essays for the exam. Anyone reviewing this uni as low hasn’t put in the work, most students are disadvantaged and lazy in my opinion, these are the ones dragging the uni down. They need to interview prospective students and make sure they’re not letting people in who are just hoping for some student finance. Basically anything lower than a first I’m this uni is ridiculous as it’s really easy with light workload. We only did 6 lab reports in the whole two years before our final research project in level 6. That wasn’t helpful as I now feel I lack research skills. However, I did enjoy the course and it made me feel accomplished. read more

I managed a 2:1 with 0% attendance and I think I studied for exams once. They’ll threaten to throw you out of uni if your attendance drops below a certain level but you honestly don’t need to go to be able to pass. I worked full time for the 3 years of my degree! Tutors are awful and I’ve never met more unsupportive people. My third year supervisor who was supposed to be helping with my dissertation saw me once and then was unreachable after that, meaning that I eventually was left with my whole dissertation to write in 3 weeks. Most exams are multiple choice questions and I think that says it all about the university and the course. read more

The library doesn't have have the books you need, so often people had to buy them. Some lectures were incredibly good and others were awful at explaining the subject. Personal tutors were not helpful at all. read more

Personal tutor never contacted anyone for anything or replied to emails. Course content and teachers are relatively good with a few inexperienced or unenthusiastic teachers. Job prospects are fine but nothing outstanding. read more

DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL! UEL will attempt to lure you with very enticing offers such as scholarships or promises of fulfilling your dreams. THIS IS NOT SO. I have been lied to, cheated and disregarded. The Psychology department is a JOKE, how dare UEL insist that its Psych dept. Is top of the school rankings, I was lied to about the accreditation of my degree, I was cheated out of promised time to complete my dissertation proposal, and virtually ALL of my instructors left during my time at UEL. BE WARNED, this school has shady practices and practically NO ethics whatsoever. Attend a university that will respect and value you as this one certainly won’t. read more
