The staff have no idea what they are doing, the university is very unorganised, and it just doesn't feel like something worth your money and time.

It's good but nowhere near perfect. The staff are by far the most shining part of the university. Facilities and opportunities are what's expected but nothing outstanding. The wifi is horrible most of the time. The student union is not up to par with most things.

The course was awful, teachers coming and going because the university couldnt afford anything. Sacking teachers after 20+years of service and they knew the industry so well. Getting ex students with no teaching degree to teach students.

The money that students are paying every year to attend this university is not being put into the courses. When complaining about facilities provided (whether it be quality or quantity), and pointing out that you don’t receive what was advertised when you applied, you’ll be told that the university can’t afford it. Yet they continue to pump money into rebranding the university and there are talks of a new building being opened. This university cares more about its public image than the experience its students.

Was okay, Passed w 2.1 but ups and downs. The Uni is okay but Residential who provides the accommodation needs to be reviewed by the council and environmental agency, smaller building is a major fire hazard with metal stairs, God forbid if there is a fire on the bottom floor. Fire alarms don't even work properly. No emergency escape on the older buildings, also some are painted black, which I've felt they get extremely hot during prolonged exposure to heat (Fire Risk). They rent it out to agencies who sell the rooms to summer schools kids as 5-star rooms. Won't support their students who really need the help, and don't care except when they need too, they are reactive, and not proactive. They also allow duo occupancy based on if they like you and have had known people who break the rules to stay, but treat everyone on a case by case basis, where they will turn a blind eye if they can, but not for everyone. I also had harassment from them, and UEL security left my room unlocked

I would not recommend University of East London to anyone. It is the WORST university by far. Most lecturers do not know there stuff, lack of support from lecturers and supervisors some good lecturers left the university. DO NOT GO TO THIS UNI you may regret it. I am going to A different university for my masters cannot make the same mistakes. I regret going to this uni

Before I went to this Uni to study Law I delivered post for a living. After graduating with a 2:1 and spending 10 years working in the legal sector, my wage is exactly the same as the inflation adjusted wage I got for delivering post back in 2002. But I did manage to rack up a 17K debt, which has never gone down in a decade. Most employers laugh at a 2:1 degree the UEL and you're certainly not any cleverer after 3 years of studying there. I'm sure mediocre students are passed after each term to get them to come back next year and pay more fees. The whole thing is a con.

Some of the lecturers are unsupportive, discriminative, unprofessional, supervisors are unqualified for some field of of thesis/dissertation. This is by far the worst university experience I have encountered. I see why a lot of university students have suicidal thoughts and why some have gone through with it. My experience with university of East london towards the end of my term have cost me greatly. I have sleepless nights, increased health issues, depression, loss of appetite, and suicidal thoughts. The way in which my exams were handled, and my thesis supervision as impacted negatively on my studies and well-being.

DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL! UEL will attempt to lure you with very enticing offers such as scholarships or promises of fulfilling your dreams. THIS IS NOT SO. I have been lied to, cheated and disregarded. The Psychology department is a JOKE, how dare UEL insist that its Psych dept. Is top of the school rankings, I was lied to about the accreditation of my degree, I was cheated out of promised time to complete my dissertation proposal, and virtually ALL of my instructors left during my time at UEL. BE WARNED, this school has shady practices and practically NO ethics whatsoever. Attend a university that will respect and value you as this one certainly won’t.

Mostly pretty good. Some things to do with my program of study (computing and business) could be a lot better organised. Doesn't have the nightlife you would expect for London but genuinely nice campus. Exams and coursework were fair and facilities good.

Overall a good university. Main advantage is good teaching and lecturers. Library is open 24/7. Wifi is available across campus. A gym is also on site. Selection of places to eat is somewhat limited. Part time work is easy because it's London!

good university as far as academics and course. Internet can't be faulted. The lack of a real campus vibe let's UEL down. Small airport next to campus so great if your a plane spotter. Societies need to be advertised more.

Brilliant small university environment, lovely place to study. Being at UEL has brought me independence as well as friends for life. Campus is a bit quiet but halls are pretty good as you get a great view of London. Free uni bus. Course was a lot of pressure but organised and support tutors in library really help. library open till late for last minute which helps.

About to finish my Msc at UEL and it's been a mixed bag. Societies are a bit limited to be honest but opportunity for volunteering. Careers service is pretty good always on at you. The nightlife in Stratford is alright if you can afford it. The University itself is nice, new looking. The course I did in theory was good. Lot of good lectures but you have to put the work in.

I studied Social work and enjoyed my course. The University of East London is known as a vocational university, meaning that they provide plenty of opportunities for students to gain practical work experience as well as study. They also run graduate and job opportunity fairs through the year. There are also many societies that the university offers, and the sports facilities are outstanding. There is a free bus service between the two campus. WiFi and I.T were excellent. It was an amazing opportunity to meet people from so many different parts of the world. A very enriching experience.

I am in my final year of LLB degree. I received huge support from lecturers and the administration. I was always encouraged to join law societies which are very organised and well maintained. The course structure was also very clear and easy to follow. Overall, a very pleased student !

The west halls are truly awful and I'm yet to meet anyone who disagrees. Right opposite London city airport so you're woken up at 8am most mornings by the sound of airplanes landing/taking off, which also fills your room with the smell of aviation fuel (this usually goes on all day with about 1min intervals of silence inbetween) the rooms are horribly designed & cramped with insufficient storage space. We've had constant problems with the fire alarms going off for no reason. The epay system does not work so every month you receive threatening letters saying you have been fined for not paying rent. Furthermore the residential services just don't seem that bothered about finding a solution to any problems you have. The list goes on.... that said they are definitely just about managable for your first year but you do feel like you're being ripped off every day and it can get a bit depressing. I have however been thoroughly pleased my course so far.

Awful university. Teaching is diabolical, support is terrible, the subject material is pure tedium. Do not study business management here, do not study anything here. If your field of work doesn't require a degree, do not waste your time. This university is not worth the £9,000 a year fees. It isn't worth anything but they are happy to lie to you, to get your money and when you realise you have been shafted it is too late to do anything. I'm just going to disappear and not pay back the student loans, this university is pure awful and it should be shut down and sued for the awful practices it employs. Wifi and internet are good tho.

Facilities are great. However I have had a extremely awful experience in terms of enrolling onto my course. Staff do not communicate well, knowledge is also lacking in terms of enrollment processes between departments. I have been back and forth like 4 times and cannot see any positive outcome in this. Spent quite a bit of Money going back and forth and issues with fees are still not sorted. No named person to contact. Very sad as I was thinking about offering work placements within my organisation but am not confident enough with what I have personally experienced. Hope the rest of my course is OK as £8000 is a lot of money to pay out and not get at least a good service if not excellent :( not happy been away for 2 years and was hoping that coming back as a graduate things had become more efficient. Doesn't seem so. However please note this is my personal experience and other may have had a better one than mine.

Residential services of the uni are the worst people to deal with any problems at all. They make it clear that the university cares only about money and does NOT take any care into the well being of its students. Health and safety is at a low, staff very unhelpful and threaten you if you do not pay due to unsatisfactory services. There maintenance workers are also incompetent letting the same problems occur again and again. I therefore would not suggest staying in halls here - NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
