Amazing uni!!! Great experience here!
Good uni, would recommend to a friend
Good uni. Plenty of things to get involved with.
Friendly place, with a lot of potential to extend your career
Great university, went through clearing and were really helpful. Had my place confirmed within 15 mins
Brilliant place with nice staff
Been here two years and have had a good experience so far (concept art course). Lecturers have all been really friendly, equipment and facilities are easy to access and even though classes have been online this year, they've still been to a good standard. Pre-Covid, classes were always really interesting and the community was/still is fun and supportive. Would definitely recommend this uni.
It's a welcomed space that is full of life
The clubs and societies was lacking as there was not as broad of a range of clubs as typical. Campus and facilities are brilliant with no issues in regards to them.
Honestly not sure, I've only been on campus for my Volleyball Soc but when I went round on open days everything seemed alright
From what I’ve done so far in first year and as well as being in the second term of my first year I’ve not had an awful lot of experience of being on campus but from what I’ve seen it looks good
Not enough funding in the art department, old out dated equipment and little to no supplies given
It's good for games but not so good for anything else. Lecturers have said the uni takes the money students pay for their courses and put it into games, no matter what their course is. This means very little is given to other students and even after paying over £9000, they have to buy their own supplies as all they receive is the space to produce work. As for games, the course "Computer Gameplay Design and Production" has one module about making board games. The lecturers of that course try to justify it by saying it's completely different from computer games and is important. Why would we want to learn something different from the rest of the course called "COMPUTER Games Design and Production? It's clear it's just two teachers forcing their hobbies on students and is disgusting as they're being paid by the students. The other 3 modules are great though, just be sure to spend time tuning your skills if you're struggling but the lecturers will help you and keep you calm.
Due to the current pandemic, I haven't been able to experience much. But so far, it's been alright. College court is the best accommodation from my experience.
When things don’t work anymore, people at College Court will fix it soon after or the next day with brand new ones
I chose staffs uni on Games Art course and now I'm in third year and I am enjoying my time here. The modules are good because the briefs are interesting and every one of them are different so you don't repeatedly work on similar things etc. The teachers provide you with plenty of knowledge and support to help you on your courses.
An awesome community and university with good lecturers.
Can’t say so much on the university as it’s all online classes now.
I've only been at staffs for a term but the support I have is brilliant especially with getting onto campus for practical teaching
I have only been at staffs 1 semester in covid19. The cadman facilities are AMAZING! Not many clubs/societies are for me apart from climbing and skiing but in covid everything is pointless to get involved with. Tutors have been amazing and done everything possible for us, always get responses.
This is a good place to come and study
Good uni, good support on the Music courses. Some staff are better than other but I’m not going to name drop here. Overall, I would come to Staffs again
With covid going on it's a little harder to review, as all my lessons are online, but I enjoyed ember lounge while it was open. Online lessons are still engaging and the staff are always very helpful.
I’ve been unable to experience the full campus clubs and facilities, but the WiFi in the library is really fast, and from what I have experienced, Staffordshire University seems to really care about its students.
My uni has been a good experience so far, however I have not been able to experience much due to the current pandemic. I've liked what i have seen so far and can't wait to see more!
Staff can be friendly but not always the most helpful
Hard to comment about the university campuses etc currently due to the fact it has been closed due to Covid-19 and the country being under lockdown, however I believe the staff have been incredible in dealing with online lessons
Really good really great place to study and relax
I believe that the university is very helpful in aiding with my work whenever I get stuck or confused.
love the e-sports facility that they have to offer at the university! made me want to spend more time on the campus!
excellent, would recommend this university for any degree! amazing teaching from the lecturers!
The university is perfect for my course and i get all of the support i need
Been a little different this final year with covid, with most of the facilities i use closed.
Great university with good accommodation choices and facilities
There are cases of students being sexually harrassed and gaslighted by male tutors that go ignored or are deemed as malicious. Any complaints are turned around and suddenly students get "mental health issues". It's bad enough to have to talk to staff that their colleagues and friends are not the good people that they believe them to be.
đó là một ngôi trường tuyệt vời
Great university. The psychology department are fantastic! I love it here and hope to secure a place on the professional doctorate when I graduate!
Staffordshire University Stafford Campus Has excellent teaching facilities and internet access. However as we are not the ‘main campus’ we get pushed to one side and forgotten about unfortunately. We have no clubs/societies
Good university with good facilities provided. Close to the accommodation
It’s good the campus facilities are very poor and outdated though
My experience has been amazing! My accommodation and course have been brilliant so far and I can’t wait to make more great memories whilst I’m here
Great university for the course I am doing! Great facilities onsite and access to support services if you need them. Onsite wifi is good, but mobile reception for me personally has been less than exceptional
Great games course with excellent facilities like the motion capture studio, tutors are also excellent both in both personality and knowledge
On mobile the WiFi around the campus is horrendous as well as the reception if you use data. Other than that everything at this university is amazing. Everyone is so helpful and friendly, while also offering a lot of support services for students regarding bullying, finance or mental health services. The mystaffs app they have is the best thing to use, and you can even make appointments for several of their services through it, such as student advisors. The layout of the campus might be a bit spread out but getting to one side to the other isn’t too difficult. All the buildings are clearly labelled on the outside, and the only downside is the fact that they’ve renovated and the layout inside some buildings is a bit confusing. I get lost easily and I’ve still managed to find each of my classes. The tutors are the best part of my whole uni experience. Thanks to them I’ve never felt anxious about going to class and I’ve always felt like I’ve had someone to talk about regarding my work.
Super friendly, helpful and determined staff who always put their students first. The campus is very large but very easy to get to point A to B. A wide range of societies and clubs to choose from as well as the ability to create one of your own. The students union are students who are very passionate to help you whenever you need it and create fun day events for the whole campus to enjoy. This university is the best! if you are looking for a fun, supportive and well organised university experience, came to staffordshire university. You won't regret it!
Perfect university beautiful staff
Students Union can be busy one day and dead the next it’s really dependant on who’s there, it’s probbaly better to go to a club or something. Internet is pretty slow but good enough for on campus. Societies fair made me cringe a lot most likely won’t be joining any of those but to be fair they have a karate selection so i’m sure you would find what you wanted, i’m just pretty stubborn with that stuff. Campus is friendly with good facilities but often find there’s not enough PCs in library or in lesson too because of big classes. Overall really nice University though, as a gaming student i recommend it for that as they have all of the resources you need.
The university is one of the best in the country for the course I’m currently doing e.g. Computer Science. The teachers are very friendly and always there to help. The lectures are very fun even though that sounds a bit strange. The university overall is very good and can’t wait to see what opportunities it will give me.
Very happy with my choice of uni. Staffs was my top choice and I was so pleased when I got it. Has exceeded my expectations and I’ve settled in very well. Classes are a great size, lecturers are very supportive and you can never ask too many questions.
Staffordshire is a great university with a diverse range of courses, it allows you to meet alot of nice like minded people who share not only a passion for your course but your hobbies aswell
Overall good Uni. Location is ideal, near all major supermarkets, Potteries shopping center. Good transport link, with Stoke station pretty much on campus.
Good uni, amazing student support and friendly staff!
Nice campus and great lectures
great university close to all the accommodating
Good location for work but on campus Wi-Fi could be improved
Worst uni ever!!!! Studied law there and ended up with mental problems due to bullying and uneducated tutors. Some students happy to do anything for good grades. Sad but true
I really like how supportive staff and lecturers are. A lot workpkacement opportunities
The library is absolutely fantastic. Much better than any other university I looked at. It’s useful for every course as the computers are equipped for nearly every course. Those who need specific software will most likely find it on the Apple Macs or, for engineering and maths, subject-specific computers. The Science Centre is fantastically equipped. They could do with another printer in there but other than that it is fantastic.
Do University is a great place to be studying And the environment is very nice
I received a Master's in Interior Design and thankfully, I did not have to pay for the online courses myself. This particular program is very over rated. It's hard enough to make a Master's in Interior Design program that actually has value in a traditional, hands-on school. I felt that the curriculum was extremely easy and, in some cases, amounted to busy work to justify the tuition. I did learn some things here but nothing I could not have learned reading a couple books. In general, not worth it at all.
Great course content on the MSC Cyber Security along with interesting and challenging assignments! A very technical MSC. The course focused on developing and demonstrating practical Cyber Security skills. This course was certainly more technically challenging and less of a 'managerial/policy focused' MSC than the MSC's some of my colleges have/are studying at alternative uni's. I've certainly explored areas of Cyber Security that i wouldn't have otherwise, such as Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering (MARE), i really liked that the focus of assessments was always on demonstrating practical competence by solving realistic Cyber Security problems in well thought out scenarios - e.g. in MARE a real world piece of malware was provided and students were required to identify it and reverse engineer it, in a sand boxed environment they had to create! Incident Response was also a really enjoyable module, where practical digital forensics skills were taught and tested during the assessment

studied law degree at this uni. Rubbish basic facilities all round. Most of the tutors need upgrading. They get facts wrong and lots of bullying and sexual harassment happening here. Uni do nothing to address this. I do not recommend this uni.
Law degree for last three years and overjoyed to leave this nasty place. Building and most of the tutors need to be upgraded. Basic facilities all round. Not worth the money you pay. Lots of bullying and sexual harassment which is not appropriately dealt with. Many tutors have been taken on after just finishing degrees at the university. Not good and I would not recommend this place.
The law school was actually quite good - supportive tutors and lecturers, interesting material, a big dedicated law library in the law building. On the social side then there are plenty of societies to get involved in. Ember is decent, and let's face it, Gobble at the LRV is better than most nights out. Stoke isn't the liveliest city for nightlife and clubbing, but it makes up for that with a great house party scene.
Great university, interesting briefs, visiting speakers and personal design display area. Great SU, plenty of activities for all.
The shared kitchen in Clarice Cliff is poor. I moved in to find the oven and hob didn’t work. I waited 4 months for them to fit a new one. I also shared the flat with two individuals who refused to clean their mess, and Reslife/cleaners did not interfere with this issue, so in the long run me and the other flatmates were forced to pay a fine for the mess we did not make. The accommodation is very over priced.
Stoke-on-Trent Campus was terrible. The area is segregated and if your an asian like myself who is new to the midlands - you almost certainly will be treated like a local with disrespect and little ambition. Some teachers were good, however some were just damn awful. I left university disappointed by my experience and the racism that is prominent in student halls when living on campus for first year. I remember the first week of starting uni, I was walking up Leek Road and some white youth in hatchback drove pass throwing eggs... Typical. I wish I could turn back time and have stayed with a local London uni - I made many friends for life, but I hold Staffordshire University in contempt for not really addressing their image or student concerns especially with poor lecturers with no interesting in teaching. i.e. If asking questions - you're an interruptor If you and the class doesn't understand something -the lecturer just says "moving on" no real care or compassion.
I'm reading for an MSc in Computing at the university via distance learning. The course is terrible and the teaching/support is abysmal. There is no directed reading, properly informed lectures or anything of the like. The course material consists of a set of tasks which you are required to complete, a very superficial power point presentation which is supposed to pass as a lecture and then you're left to get on with it. Comparable courses at other universities have a rich variety of multimedia to support teaching and deliver an enjoyable learning experience. This course is so bad that I've even resorted to using youtube as a means of getting some decent lecture material. The lecturer is often late in delivering the (very basic) course material and the little material that is provided is often contradictory to whats in textbooks on the subject. I so regret not having chosen a different university. I am thinking about complaining but am afraid that this might result in bad marks.
Racist bunch of bigots, if you are a minority don't go there at all costs or you will regret it!
The internet is pretty good and the 24/7 library is fantastic!
Today I attended an Interview for the midwifery course. I was made to feel so welcome and was able to relax even though I was interviewing. They made the day so rememorable even with adding breakfast to start the day after travelling two hours prior to make it for 9am. I also got on offer which was the icing on the top! I can't wait to start September 2018!
Staffordshire university does a really good job at making you feel really welcome on the first day to the last day. We are like a big family and everyone is here for each other. The clubs are so friendly and make sure to make everyone feel welcome new or old. The campus is all really close to it's self and it takes about 15 minutes to walk from one side of the campus to the other side.
So far my experience with the campus and classes have been more than what I expected. My tutors are beyond excellent and can’t be more helpful and enthusiastic, my only issue is the aproach the ResLife team takes when contacting us. The emails and tone of the contact with them is condescending or intimidating. Every thing seems to be threatend with a cash fine. As someone with anxiety the emails and letters seem to always put me on edge and make feel uncomfortable living on campus
Blackheath has a cafe and library with a nice selection. All the clubs/societies and student union activities are based at the main stoke campus, which makes me feel a bit left out. People do make their own fun though, we got a free gym pass so can organise badminton. I haven't used the careers service so can't judge that. The wifi on campus is great.
came here expecting better WiFi than my shoddy AOL router at home, ended up disappointed after taking what seemed to be an eternity to download a <15MB file. :(
Welcome week was really helpful for getting to know lecturers and coursemates and the moving in party was really good fun.
The student union is everywhere and always available if you need help. There is a society for everything and the facilities are modern and suitable for every course
So far I've been very comfortable in my living space. My room is big enough for me, my desk is a comfortable size and my bed is actually quite comfortable!
WiFi is super slow and sometimes doesn’t even connect
A fabulous unviversity, great people, great atmosphere providing a safe and homely environment.
Overall a well balanced University. The university have good intentions for there students however they could offer better support with maintenence. The price of individual academic uniform is very expensive. After 3 years studying I will have invested in access of £55,000. I would of expected the university to offer some kind of understanding.
The campus is great, clean, attractive. The computer facilities are amazing and the campus is locate not too far from stoke cote centre (15-20) minute walk. I feel it lacks in nightlife. The university itself does host its own event nights at the lrv but I've never really been drawn to attend; friends say it's empty. In the ember lounge they hold a karaoke night which is a blast. Especially whilst enjoying some of their cocktails. But there's not much in the clubbing scene. There are some venues in Hanley but they're a bit lacklustre and more expensive than I would have thought. £3-6 a drink. Overall I do really love this University as the course is phenomenal. The area around it is a different matter. Would recommend this to anyone who wants to do technology-based courses and even business and art; the facilities are second to none.
Had to purchase wifi ourselves but every other student accommodation has wifi - I haven't used the careers service so I have no judgement student union are fab as well as societies - I play badminton on Wednesdays and campus facilities have my divided opinion as I am split between multiple campuses
Everywhere has its problems but staffs really tried and for games and media is the best in the land. Amazing.
Good facilities! Unless your in Clarice cliff which is outdated!!! Hence 3* but other than that amazing place! (Also never used career service yet) societies are good fun and always looking to get you involved in activities :)
My experience if the careers network has been very good, the campus itself has a few shops and takeaways on it so anything you need is readily available.
An excellent university with an outstanding photography department. Lectures and technicians were always willing to help you if and when it was needed! Constantly checking progress of assessments and genially interested in your wellbeing not just on the course! A very understanding group of people who do not judge or behave negatively around others.. when choosing which university I wanted to attend 3 years ago I decided Staffs sounded the best due to the course, the campus, the area all the boxes were ticked and it did not disappoint!
Staffordshire University has been amazing at supporting me academically with the resources available. I am a recent graduate, 3 years ago when it came down to choosing the right university for me I have chosen Staffs because of the amazing facilities available for the photography course, as well as equipment. I can now say it has not disappointed me. I would truely recommend this university with anyone doing a creative course, especially photography!
The only thing I wish there was would be a running/track team, other than that I have no issues, it's a fab uni!
Loving it here, friendly people, easy to find your way round campus and passionate staff!
Helpful staff, great facilities and undergoing a big refurbishment to support all students in their studies!
It's a lovely campus. As soon as I came here on open day it felt right. The staff I have spoken to have been friendly and helpful. I love the cosplay society. The leaders are awesome and it's nice to hang out with like minded people.
It's ok I guess, not amazing. The computers are minimum, the library pretty bare. The students union seems to do nothing of actual worth other than hold a subpar "club" night in the union bar every Friday and running meaningless #proudToBeStaffs campaigns. At least you get internet everywhere on campus.
Wifi cuts all the time even though i paid for a £50 upgrade
Most of the clubs and societies are on the stoke campus
Facilities up to working standard, the union is very friendly and great for a job. University is always look for staff so it easy to get a job. Free WiFi in every building and it's much better than in halls
It's alright. Pretty mediocre. Nothing special about it really.
Well organised lecturers who are really helpful. Great Students Union
I wouldn't pick anywhere else. There's much to be improved but the social aspect outweighs all the bad points! The students union does a great job and making it a place that you love
