Cool enough, I feel safe and welcomed.
lovely green campus library is lovely would be good to have another shop maybe a cheaper one closer to my accommodation which is st george
Great experience, nice campus and services
I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year at Reading. Since the beginning there have been plenty of opportunities made available to me from meeting new friends, welcome week to opportunities within my course. The union is great fun on a Wednesday night and everything is at student prices which is even better. The outside spaces such as Mojos, Park bar, the paddock and the Harris gardens are great open spaces for when the weather is sunny. Perfect for a drink in the sun or a walk around. The variety of eating places is also very impressive. There is always plenty of food and a variety of options at each place.
Facilities are fantastic, societies are diverse. Could have more non-alcoholic options
Good university. All the facilities are helpful
Great facilities at the uni, love goin student union club every Wednesday
Simple good university! Has a fab library and so mant cute shops (especially the asian market and boba shop) and is overall pleasant to be on.
Lots of variety available :D no complaints. Weekly themes for SU. Societies often chat away in group chats, varying on society depends how often meet up. Careers service always seems happy to help.
Lots of green spaces on campus and a really good library however, campus is quite far from any shops/central Reading but there is regular transport links.
Campus is very green and pleasing to look at, however there isn’t much help with trying to find buildings or lecture halls which makes it very easy to get lost, especially if you’re new to campus. Trying to find help services also isn’t very easy. Campus WiFi constantly turns on and off.
Very convenient campus Great campus and facilities, active SU, good clubs, helpful career services.
Campus is really nice. Careers service is not specialised enough for the departments they are responsible for (Agriculture), resulting in very generic advice. They are ok to help write a CV, but that is more or less it. Students union clearly prioritises activities for undergraduates and does not include postgraduates in its activities, also they seem very untransparent about their structure, considering a part of the postgraduates study fees go to the SU it would be nice to have more activities.
Loved first year and the whole experience.
Lots of activity’s for certain societies, but I wish the basketball team was a little larger. The clubs are very active with lots of inanition practices. All and all a fair experience.
I love the location and the amenities provided by the uni Eating square could have a better variety of food for longer periods Internet connection could be faster because sometimes it is really slow or doesn’t work
Everything seems good as I expected
Great selection of societies. Comfortable safe campus
I have been living the family acommodation since September 2022. I can say that it is the best type of accommodation recommended for families, the children can play and gather in a safe place, you can study and have fun at the same time. the place is reasonably secure and clean.
Great uni on a lovely campus, good su and range of events, does lack in study space apart from the library though
Internet has always been brilliant, wide range of accessible clubs and brilliant facilities.
Amazing uni, fab staff to help advise and create a welcoming environment. wide range of societies to get involved in and events to take part in.
The campus and facilities are quite good and so are the societies. I personally don't really have that much experience on the SU so I can't say much about it except for the fact that I don't particularly enjoy Wed Union. I am in Henley Business school so it might differ for the greater university but the career service is absolutely amazing. This whole year I've been helped and guided during applications, my CV etc. The internet is ok, it depends where you are on campus.
Had a perfect year, no problems
amazing university and campus, the wifi could be better. and the university could do more for political concerns.
Nice to walk around. Plenty of places to eat and drink. All the building are close to eachother which makes travel easier
The Campus Facilities here at the university of reading are great because they offer everything that a student could need such as a big library for whenever you need to complete any studying and a local shop that is on campus which is really convineant for whenever I needed some essentials.
Campus is very nice and green, the lake is lovely to walk around
I loved the fact that there were so many societies and clubs this year and the student union seems to be very active as well hosting different events. Campus is always clean.
The university facilities are excellent in all aspects, such as the internet, library, cafeteria, and more. However, I’m not quite sure what kind of activities the Student Union is involved in. It would be better if they either offered a wider variety of activities or promoted what they do more effectively.
Wifi connection on campus is generally good, however it tends to cut out in the library. There are a range of events and clubs that students can join, as well as plenty of social areas on campus.
I love it here! Everyone is so nice and understanding, and the campus is lovely. There's always something on so you never get bored, but if you do, the internet is really good so you can just stay home and watch Youtube if you want as well!
The campus has a good amount of bars for a smaller campus which is great. Due to the uni being smaller there are less societies.
I wish there were more free events on at the SU like the Christmas Market
a very diverse and green uni campus with lots of activities scheduled regularly
the university is very accommodating
Everything is close and there are a lot of opportunities
Offer lots of facilities and clubs always make sure you are looked after and safe
Overall a top university with a lively, thriving and pretty campus - would recommend to anyone.
Amazing for more sociable people. The park bar and the field next to the accommodation is perfect for sunny days. Services are close by. You can get anywhere on campus within a 10 min walk (apart from Agriculture XD).
The University of Reading has great facilities, reliable Wi-Fi, and a supportive careers service. Clubs and societies are diverse and welcoming. The Students’ Union is average but functional. Overall, a positive experience as an international student.
plenty of clubs and societys that welcome you in, the student union is great for a wednesday night out but in the day time its home to great shops like an asian grocery store bubble tea bagels cafes and a bar
Overall campus is extremely good much better than expected across all areas, loads of green areas, good sporting facilities and huge library
Very green and pretty campus, lots of places to see!
not bad and its a woderful adventure of my life
WiFi was down for a few weeks in one specific lecture theatre, which wouldn’t have been a problem if it weren’t for the fact ALL of our course’s lectures were in that lecture theatre and you need to download the slides off blackboard. But other than that great Uni
Everything really good! Some facilities are old
The scenery is beautiful and it is a very peaceful campus. It is also easy to navigate.
I don't go to a lot of university events so I'm not the most knowledgeable on this area of review but many friends have said it's quite enjoyable
In general fab facilities. Lovely green campus but still close to town centre. Great cafes on campus and nearby to study and socialise!
Everywhere is really close by and within reasonable distance, and just overall really good!
Love the location and green spaces. Societies are a bit lacking for hobbies.
everything is jut fine, pyings are high
Never had any big problems and have enjoyed what campuschas to offer.
lots of events and the environment is very good.
Love the campus it’s huge and so open
My first year at Reading has been amazing so far, I feel that I've grown so much as a person and gained confidence through the opportunities the university provides to get students involved.
Yes it’s good, nothing much to complain about, maybe having a wider selection of societies
It is a great university with lots of nature. Love walking around the campus. The staff are really quick and helpful.
Good university but need to focus on more practical aspects than theoretical focus.
I've had a really good experience here so far, there are so many good places to sit and study. The university also has a really good social scene but it has never gotten crazy to the point where I felt unsafe. The lecturers are really good at what they do and make sure everyone in every course gets the help they need. Everyone is very welcoming and the uni is very diverse.
My experience at the University of Reading has been incredibly rewarding. The campus is beautiful and well-equipped, with modern learning spaces, green areas, and a strong sense of community. Lecturers are supportive and passionate about their subjects, making the learning environment engaging and encouraging. The university offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, societies, and career support services that help students grow both personally and professionally. While there can be improvements in areas like administrative communication, overall, it’s a great place to study, meet people from diverse backgrounds, and prepare for a global career.
Reading campus is fairly nice.
It’s a good university with a lot of opportunities to make friends, such as regular events and a good number of societies. There are nice study spots and good hangout areas as well. And in general they offer a good range of courses that a lot of students will be interested in
I belive that the societies should try integrating more international students and commuting students to make them feel more welcome.
Very good university overall! Love it here
Initially eduroam was problem in the beginning of the semester but as time went by it got better. The careers support is very helpful and I would say is one of the best. Shout out to Dr Amanda Gill!! The students union nights on Wednesdays can be a bit boring sometimes, need to change up the music maybe and not play the same tunes all the time. A suggestion would be have an Afro vibe for Wednesday Union.
Good uni with decent facilities
Good uni staff could be more helpful but good other than that. Great facilities and clubs available.
The university is great. Lecturers are nice and actually care for your future, giving advice and opening doors for career pathways. The accommodation is also well maintained, and you are encouraged to build a community with your flatmates and neighbours.
Really love how in nature the campus is and also the food markets that come every week!
The reason I am at the Reading University is because it is the only university that offered Foundation Year starting in January, and that’s what I needed. But after progressing to the actual course, I discovered how great this uni is. Starting from campus and ending with studying facilities everything motivates you to work and achieve more. Also, there’s a lot of entertainment facilities on campus - societies, club nights, eating places - so you definitely won’t be bored. I recommend this uni a lot!
great campus full of activities and greenery
Being at the university of reading has been amazing. It’s opened my eyes to what I’m capable of and aspects of life that I enjoy.
The pubs on campus are nice for post-graduates. I have not interacted too much with the societies or union as a post-grad but they appear to have lots of opportunities. The careers service have been really great for me, very friendly and helpful. The internet can be hit or miss but generally good enough
My university is a welcoming calm environment with beautiful scenery and nature. The student union is helpful and there are student welfare services that are also helpful. I’ve joined a few societies and society events and they’ve all been really enjoyable.
Excellent studying experience in the university, kind people, various events and approachable supports make me throughout this semester
“From Curiosity to Purpose” When I arrived at the University of Reading, I was driven by curiosity—a desire to question and grow. During my MSc in Pharmacy Practice by Research, I realised pharmacy is not just about science—it’s about people. My supervisors challenged me to think deeply, transforming my learning into meaningful contributions. Now, as a PhD student in Pharmacy Practice, my curiosity has become purpose. Every day, I’m inspired by the knowledge that my research could improve lives, advance practices, and spark innovation. This isn’t just a story of my education. It’s the story of finding purpose, and it began at the University of Reading.
The uni is not bad. I'm not that social so I may be biased.
I find that everything is very easy to deal with
the Reading university campus is spacious and wifi is good
There's more clubs and societies than all other universities I've heard about. There's a very wide range and the majority don't require paid membership. The sports ones usually require a fee, and if they need to use the sports park that's very expensive. The price to use the Sportspark (gym, table tennis rooms etc.) increased like 400% in a year, it's a ridiculous price tbh.
Wonderful place to work and has a great eco-friendly campus. The lake provides you with the ability to still be around nature within the large town. Plenty of space to study within the various buildings on campus.
The university experience is great so far! Students have come from different countries and backgrounds. The support and career services are good so far.
The campus facilities are my favourite parts of u u as there are loads of events that take place their i loved tge society’s fair at the beginning of the year and there are still events going on now. For example the other day there was a vintage clothing sale which i thought was just amazing. the food market every thursday is incredible and i love when their are occasional plant sales outside the SU. Bagelman and the korean store are a perfect addition to the SU aswell.
I cannot comment on other degrees but for someone studying biology related degree, the facilities and staff are outstanding. I’ve never felt more supported and happy whilst studying. All the lecturers are super passionate about their subject which is great for me as someone who gets inspired and motivated easily.
Decent uni, great green spaces, average SU, friendly staff.
I’ve loved my time at Reading so far! And to think I wasn’t even considering it when I added it to my list of 5 unis. Talking to the department at the open day completely changed my mind - the enthusiasm and knowledge they had in their areas inspired me, and I knew Reading was the place for me. I’ve made so many friends despite knowing no one to begin with. The accommodation and facilities were great (I was in the townhouses, which I thought I would hate but it was fantastic, however on campus accom has gotten a lot more expensive since 2024 😬) and I’m so glad I joined a society where I met so many long term friends. My course is fab, highly recommend languages at Reading, it’s so much fun and super flexible if you want to pick up new languages. The library is a great place to study but there’s also The Lounge if you want to heat up your lunch, and a Global Study Lounge and Miller Languages Lounge which are great. Societies are a little limited in range but the existing ones are great
i love going to uni here. i feel looked after and at home. i think the support for students here is fabtastic
The lecturers and tutors are quite helpful and friendly. The classrooms are well equipped with latest technology However, clubs and societies should be more active
The University is well located and the campus offers a good quantiity of services starting from a co-op store situated internally and a big sportspark that offers a large amount of fitness possibilities. Also the library is well managed and divided in different areas which make it really accessible for all.
I am having a wonderful experience at the University of Reading. The university hosts a lot of events that foster a sense of community, making it easy for international students to connect and feel included. The supportive environment and diverse culture made my time here truly enriching.
The university hosts different services and events that support students' academic and professional growth, as well as some that are aligned with their hobbies and interests. Campus facilities are generally good and modern. It is surrounded by nature which can have positive effects on students' mental health.
very good and enjoyable with friendly staff and students
Great university with great staff
Overall, it has been a great experience. I have made many new friends and have explored both the university and the town centre which is nearby. I recommend people nearby to visit as the campus is stunning!
UoR is a great university with an amazing campus to explore. The student union always puts on popular events as well as having information and support in place for students. The teaching is interesting and interactive, as well as being relevant to topics of today.
University of Reading is definitely the most green and beautiful university. I am so glad I came to study here.
WiFi could be better and easier to use, apart from that everything is great
Great university providing a lot of useful and nice facilities for everyone.
