I am an international student and the staff have been incredibly warm and welcoming. The accommodation is fun to live in ( fun activities and free snacks!) , conveniently located just a 5minute walk to my classes and the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Maniplutive higher ups especially the lead of the accomodation team and the assistant dean of art and design. The recent internet change for student security makes it harder for the students to connect to the internet. The union's society team are only contactible via email which has only bean a recent thing. If you have a choice between two universities. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN GET FROM THIS ONE!

I really enjoy studying at UCLan. The tutors are supportive, the campus is modern, and the atmosphere is friendly. My course is very practical and creative, with great facilities for architecture students. It’s right in the city centre, which makes everything convenient. Overall, it’s a great university with a strong community feel.

I had a genuinely great experience living here. The building is safe, clean, and clearly designed with students in mind. The rooms are well-maintained and quiet — perfect for studying — and the common areas are comfortable and modern. The management team is professional, responsive, and always willing to help, whether it’s maintenance, mail issues, or general questions.

In my second year of living in Foundry Court, and I’ve loved every minute of it. The staff are so lovely and I always feel so safe and happy. The facilities are amazing, and the location of the accommodation is so close to the University!!

Awful uni, no amenities , no support, library is closed at 10pm during May and June exam season - awful experience don’t come here if you do a hard course

I couldn't recommend Foundry enough. I have stayed here for all 3 years that I have been at university, even staying in the same room. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and the facilities are amazing. Any issues that I had (and there weren't many) were solved within the day. It truly is a home away from home.

I studied Sports Therapy at the University of Central Lancashire for two years, during which I completed practical placements that helped me apply my learning in real-world settings. A highlight of my time at UCLan was being actively involved with the university’s football club, which allowed me to combine my passion for sport with my studies and build strong connections with others.

UCLan has been incredible! The lecturers are super supportive and always happy Tramshed in Preston is honestly one of the best student accommodations I’ve come across. From the very beginning, the application process was super straightforward and easy to complete. I was surprised at how quick and stress-free it was to get everything sorted! The accommodation itself is fantastic – clean, modern, and perfectly located. Everything you need is right there, and the atmosphere is really welcoming. I instantly felt at home. If you're a student looking for somewhere to live in Preston, I can't recommend Tramshed enough. It’s an amazing place to stay, and the whole experience from applying to moving in was just top-tier!

Amazing staff work here. I've been staying here for six years and highly recommend it. It's close to campus, the train station, and the city center.

I've had a lovely time at foundry court. The staff are extremely friendly, and there are a plethora or free events every week. As an international student homesickness is inevitable - especially when you have to spend holidays or cultural events alone. So, I am extremely lucky to have foundry court celebrate Chinese New Year as it honestly was the first time overseas I felt my culture celebrated. On top of that, you can tell that staff really care about your wellbeing. There was one time my light wasn't working, and it was fixed the day after I filed my report (like what?!). This was genuinely the easiest review I've had to write, because I do love living here. I am glad to call it my home away from home.

Overall facilties are good however not as great as promised at open day. Some promised equipment has never been used, or is broken. Attitude of staff is where the university really fails. Sadly, students are often spoken down to, concerns are ignored unless in writing. Had I have known I may have considered an alternative university

Many staff are open to helping when you need it and have very good support systems when you’re struggling including a free university counselling service

Brilliant university with outstanding facilities for mental health support. Certain discrepancies such as the use of AI and criteria for mitigating circumstances seem to be unknown of differing amongst lecturers which can prove to be an issue for students

I want to connect with people and meet new people and I have signed to several societies but not one has emailed or done anything to connect us or gather us together. I don't have a lot of understanding as to what the student union building is and what the role is of the student union the careers service is excellent its amazing with a lot of help and support from them. the wifi throughout the whole of UCLAN is brilliant and the campus is gorgeous with amazing facilities I recommend this university to everyone its like a hidden gem not many know about.

everything accessible on campus including free access to gym and also use of the sports arena. lots of variety in sport and social clubs which are great to help make friends.

Our Preston campus is perfectly located in the city allowing students to access their classes, the library and social activities really easily. The uni is okay. Not the best but not the worst. Food in canteen is good but cheap. Staff are mostly nice. There needs to be better help with carers and finding a job.

The University's location is great

It is never too late to make new friends at university and there are many ways you can. If you are interested in joining a society or club, these are both great ways for you to meet likeminded people outside of your course, more information on the wide range of societies we offer can be found on the Students' Union website. There are also lots of events and activities going on throughout the year for you to get involved with and meet other people. Keep an eye out for these events through posts on our social media channels, checking the Student Hub events section and searching on the Students' Union website. Another great way of meeting people is by becoming a student ambassador. There are opportunities throughout the year for students to become ambassadors here at the university.
