Studied here for three years, absolutely loved it! I’ve always described it as a hidden diamond in the middle of nowhere! I especially loved the Student’s Union
I absolutely loved the accommodations available on campus, it felt like I really was part of a community. Although I did not partake in any clubs or societies I know a few people who have and have absolutely loved it from day one. Also, the help I received from the placement team was amazing, I met with them a few times and each time I came out with something to do and go forward, they helped me in so many ways when I was very stressed.
The staff are all friendly and approachable. They're are willing to sit and listen to you when you need them most. They can give you help with an assignment or personal issues, even the catering staff are lovely.
Over the three years I spent there, I felt more and more alienated with each passing day. After the initial excitement of coming to university had worn off, I saw things at Trinity for what they were. Our department was hated by the university and they have spent 3 years trying to shut us down. We have lost nearly all of our lecturers either by them being forced out of their jobs or because of sex scandals which the uni attempted to cover up. Had I been in a different department, my experience may have been much different but being Catholic and a part of my department made you a walking target for pretty much everybody. Trinity boasts about being an inclusive university and it is, as long as you are part of a sports team or LGBT. If you are Catholic, the university hates you despite the uni being of a Catholic foundation. I got the impression that the uni is ashamed of its Catholic identity and wants to do everything to hide it, including getting rid of all Catholic symbols.
It’s a lovely little university for those who want to really get involved in their course and meet close friends for life. The university is so caring and supportive I just can’t not say encough. The staff is amazing and so it the teaching.
Some of the lecturers are great and helpful others however aren't as helpful. The careers team are horrendous for placement preparation.
Great uni, lots of things to do and loads it help if needed
The university in terms of its lectures is really good. However, the facilities such as student support and placement office are quite poor. You’re left to last minute to be placed on placement and even then they place you really far away which is very inconvenient and time consuming. I failed my course because of the fact that my placements were too far and I didn’t get home until 10pm and had to wake up at 5:30am. This was after showering and getting my things ready for the next day, plus sorting out planning and marking etc. Student support don’t do follow ups to ask if we’re okay and you have to constantly keep chasing them.
It's alright for a uni. Great employment service, ok lecturers ok campus. Quite small, but I like that. What our su does I don't know!
Awful experience wouldn’t recommend
