Excellent environment and wonderful support for international students too!!!
Nice view , lack of entertainment
Great place made nice friendships
Campus is very well organised, also careers services are excellent with exceptional guidance.
good facility and provide nice, interesting society activities, professors are nice and always ready to help.
I've really enjoyed my time at Warwick — my degree has been fantastic.
Student graduated 2012. Superb university studied Computer & Business Studies, loved the campus life, lived in Tile Hill close to campus. Graduated and got an offer with BofA
I am in my 4th and final year at Warwick so have a lot to say. Firstly, this is a prestigious and academic Russell group uni- you will have good employment prospects and be well educated. If this is your only concern about uni life then apply here. If you want to go to uni for more than just academics I.e good social life (I.e clubbing, bars-and cheap), nice surrounding area then don’t apply here. There are many Russell group unis that will offer a more balanced experience. For this reason I definitely regret choosing warwick Because I haven’t had the most social time at university compared to friends at other Russell group unis. Facilities on campus are very good. I believe the SU only runs one club night a week though which means in first year if you want to go to more than one night out a week you will have to commute and spend £! It’s a very business orientated uni which means it doesn’t always invest in the students and more so in infrastructure to make the institution look good
All good theres not much to say
They reason I give student Union of Warwick for one star is that I can’t give them 0 stars:)
the university is a best place to study
Excellent forward thinking university BUT do not do any courses with a year out in a European country funded with an Erasmus grant. The office at Warwick responsible for administering the grant is totally useless. You will be stranded with no money for at least 3 to 4 months. You can email them until you are blue in the face and I can guarantee that you will not receive a response. Useless, totally useless.
It is a really nice university with a beautiful campus and latest technology.
A pleasant, safe campus, with good facilities and first-year accommodation.
What kind of SU reception is closed on weekends!!!!!!??!?!
Warwick uni is completely corporately focused, and only cares about making money, not at all about what would actually benefit students. The cost of membership to sports clubs and the new sports facilities means that my membership went up by 350% in one year. It's entirely aimed at the public and not at students. It's now actually half the price for me to join a local gym or to swim at a local pool. The public transport to campus is non existent, and hugely penalises less well off students. All the wealthy students own cars and drive onto campus paying £4 to park a day (and very hard to find a parking space. Less fortunate students have to pay £4 return per day for the bus, which from Leamington (where most students live) can take over an hour in rush hour. Choose this university only if absolutely all you care about in the world is academics and don't place any value in what is available and aimed at students, especially transport, accomodation and sports facility availability.
Very well serviced university with high research facilities
spent my three years here for Accounting and Finance, definitely could find out a lot of things to do, to participate if you want to, course setting is great, library during exam time might be stuffed, but they do offer after 9'o clock late night coffee and cookie, snacks and drinks are expensive, but you are always welcome to bring your own! a lot of interesting modules as long as you pay attention, and choose wisely !! lecturer are passionate about the thing they teach, which is always inspiring. some final exams are a bit rubbish, some module leaders are seems just too lazy to think of new questions, exactly same last year resit exam paper came out again in the final, which seems a bit unfair. some modules definitely changed my way of thinking (in a positive way), a lot of career support, you could always find your stage, if you got talents! would recommend ! for the freshers, don't spend the time with yourself! come out of your comfort zone, and explore a new world!
I used to hate it while I was there, but now I actually ache because I miss it so much. The campus is outstandingly beautiful. The Uni itself is quite business oriented. But the campus itself is the most beautiful one in England.
Students who are not on main campus, the food facilities are poor. Continuous internet issues and no printing. Not enough parking and what is offered is over charged. Students with learning disabilities should avoid at all costs, I was informed I was to 'SLOW' to continue studying here. When I enquired about support, I was informed it would take two years to put any support in place and it still wouldn't be guaranteed. Appalling learning institute.
I did my PGCE here; wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. The treatment is atrocious for PGCE students, if you have a problem you are told to rethink your career. The staff, bar one or two, will bully you to try and force you in to quitting.
Beautiful campus isolated in the middle of nowhere. It's nice to live around the area but definitely annoying for doing any sort of activities that cannot be found on campus. The nearest city is at least a good 20 minute drive away and is hectic in the mornings and around 4pm. You want to live close if you plan on going to lectures. Academic wise, the feedback is atrocious. Admin staff seem incompetent, every department has its own staff and it seems like nobody ever gets fired for making a mess of anything. The exam timetable this year was pretty amusing; late release of the timetable and when it was released there were exams after week 10. Many exams (where papers were basically the same) were scheduled weeks apart. This was amended but there was further delay on it being released meaning that students had less time to prepare appropriately. This year, there was the rape chat scandal, some other issues that I won't disclose here, and a huge mess with exam timetables.
Very good academic facilities with new buildings and lots of academic support available. On campus accommodation is quite good too
There is something for everyone at Warwick. Being a campus university, everything is close by and you feel safe, protected and part of a family. The new sports facilities are going to be amazing.
I had the best memories ever of my youth and I cannot thank Warwick enough for the experience. It was an amazing place with great sports and cultural facilities and top class accommodation. I loved my time there and really recommend it to anyone.
Everything was as expected, and fine.
Great University be sure to check it out
Very expensive campus. At most universities, students go to the union for cheap drinks. At Warwick Uni, students take buses into town to avoid getting stung in the wallet. Very poor and unprofessional admin staff. They didn't even realise I was on my course until a few days before it began when, without a hint of contrition, they sent me on a crazy paper chase to sort the requisite paperwork. They also lost one of the essays I submitted and asked me to write it again in order to pass the course. This happened, incredibly, two months after my course ended! The union is designed like a rat's maze; hence a nightmare for security staff to keep safe. The best way to get a sincere apology out of anyone in authority at Warwick is to hire the Ghost of Christmas Past to do a job on them. All they seem to care about is squeezing students for money.
I've now been to several of the Midland Universities, and Warwick will always be the one that stands out for me. The campus is absolutely amazing (and stunning under the sun), and the support and student community are well established and makes you feel like you're a part of something big.
Warwick is a lovely campus university with a terrific academic quality.
Do not go to this place. I am in the chemistry department which is really unfriendly and has quite a toxic atmosphere. Nobody talks to each other and the professors spend way more time fighting with each other and do not care about helping the students. Avoid at all costs!
This university does not care about its students, only money. I would highly recommend thinking twice about coming here, please don't make the same mistake I did
Pro's - I mean there are good bits. Overall I have found the teaching of good quality and my course enjoyable. Cons - EVERYTHING is overpriced. Parking has gone up 50% since I began uni. (I have to commute in my car unfortunately). It's now better value (taking into account size of cup) to buy coffee from Costa than any of the retail outlets. Rootes grocery store is consistently overpriced and of low quality. Bar fusion again is ludicrously overpriced, deciding to almost double the price of chips last year for example. 'Sports federation' and 'Societies federation' are overpriced in comparison to other uni's and this money doesnt seem to go back into clubs. Gym membership is ludicrous and has to be paid entirely up front for the year, accomodation is ludicrous. It's a real shame for a university with such a good academic reputation to be ran like a business trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of students.
terrible place to study, and it was the worst choice I had made in my entire life. The mood inside the campus is very toxic, and you can tell that by spending some time in London university libraries, where people a much more cheery. The professors are fighting each other all the time and one professor in my department got suspended due to a row with colleagues over job recruitment. This divisive mood is picked up by post graduates as well and they spend a lot of their time in the common room gossiping about others rather than gathering up to discuss academic works. A lot of the postgraduates have moved out, and have shifted to London, so basically you don't get a chance to meet a lot of the people who actually are registered there. The outer environment , which is Coventry city was recently ranked as the worst city in the UK, and the sense of desolation you encounter there makes you feel that you never want to set your foot in there ever again. Never choose this university.
Be ready to pay £10 to see your script (per one) if you are a student of the Department of Economics
As part of the department of chemistry, the analytical science course is very disorganized. The students are not told about assessment days until the last moment and the course structure is not adequate for part time studying. I do not recommend this university to anyone that wants to study any of the analytical science courses, including Molecular Analytical Science (MAS), Analytical Science & Instrumentation (ASI) and Polymer Science.
I find the campus atmosphere really warm and welcoming, especailly as a first year. It was really important that everything was close by to help me with accessibility.
Pros: - largely modern - good facilities Cons: - distance from closest cities causes the creation of a nasty social bubble - generally unpleasant and highly obnoxious British students - mediocre quality of teaching for the level that the university wants itself to be at, particularly in the CompSci department - lack of seriousness with regards to career support - very barebones clubs that are deeply uninteresting, though this one is also largely a result of the types of students generally coming here - general lack of professionalism among the younger teachers - I hope you like having your inbox spammed Overall, my stay at Warwick was my least favorite part of education, and it being such a disappointment is what led me to abandon the option of going for a masters degree and instead return to my home country and get employed there.
Central campus is good, lots of societies
Can't really fault it - i'm in love with my uni! Maybe just revamp the humanities building if you have a spare few million, but the restaurants and bars and club and green space and arts centre are second to none.
It's got a really good facilities and services throughout. Lots of opportunities to get involved
Great WIFI almost everywhere. Not the best night life and not many things around uni at all. Prestigious though.
The traffic system here seems to have been designed by half wits. Have been waiting for half an hour now to leave.
Internet might be dodgy at times and some building are not that new
An interesting uni that requires proper participation to enjoy it. There are plenty of opportunities wherever you go to have fun and to do well. However, it requires a lot of active effort, a lot can pass you by without you even knowing it.
Had the best experience of my life interacting with a variety of international students and faculty, while doing my MBA. The campus and it's facilities were top notch as well.
Campus is so wonderful however several days find myself struggling for things to do.
A considerable "bubble" feeling but it can be a lot of fun if you put yourself out there and try everything it offers you.
Sports facilities are expensive.
- there is nothing to do on campus - university accommodation is not great - keys to the building keep getting demagnetised because of some reprogramming that is being done
It's my first year and while the on campus club events aren't great the societies do a lot of their own event which are fun
You come here for the teaching and the degree, not any of this s***
The cone ( i refuse to call it a KOAN) , good god the koan
Very good campus uni. Everyone is very happy.
My experience here at Warwick has been really good. Academically, I am more than satisfied with my modules and timetable. Socially, could not have been better; living with wonderful flatmates, made some "module" mates which is great. Sport facilities are good, wide range of societies and all are fully active. Corporations and firms have a big presence on campus and give us a lot of opportunities.
Great university, even tho you won't make a lot of contact with the outside world.
It's pretty good but could be better
Good university ! There is always something to do
Warwick is a beautiful campus which always looks very sleek, there is always something going on but if you are into clubbing Warwick is definitly not for you! The student union isn't the best and the student nights are a bit repetitive and you feel ypu have to be drunk to enjoy them which is a shame
We love you warwick, we do, we love you warwick, we do, we love you warwick, we DO, OOOOOOOHHHHHH WARWICK WE LOVE YOU X
Very good academically and for no beverage socialising for the most part.
WiFi is pretty s***. Clubs are good, everything from skydiving to assassin's to quidditch.
It's quaint, it's beautiful and it's fairly quiet
Great uni, love it here, everything is awesome
The campus is so amazing, and easy to navigate. Teaching is generally very good quality, and I'm having a great time here.
Enjoying my time here. Beautiful campus and always things to do. This university is fitting for any type of student
The university offers high academic standards with has a tremendous employability rate with world class companies
It is a brilliant university with amazing Student Union clubs.
Top quality education in an amazing campus.
Very good university. Would recommend. Great people.
I loved every single second at Warwick!
Loved my time here 99% of the time. Will miss it very much. Wished there were a few things I could have changed about my course (Law and Sociology) but I've come away with my partner, friends for life and great experiences that I will cherish forever. Will miss this place!
Don't go here to study law, it won't do your career any favours
Gibbet hill end of campus and the walk to it is lovely. I greatly enjoy being part of societies!
Worst experience of my life. Attending this university was like hell on earth 24/7, you can never escape it.
For a university that is in the top 10 the teaching is absolutely rubbish These lectures have a masters degree and some have PhDs but all they know to is read of an empty slide. I'm paying 9k for an empty slide I don't feel 9k smarter either.
Best decision I ever made in choosing Warwick, couldn't imagine myself anywhere else
The university of Warwick has so much to offer, it's the perfect campus university and provides a home away from home feel! The societies and clubs give you a nurturing sense of belonging and the career opportunities help you discover what path you intend to follow after completing your degree, the uni is a great help and I recommend any students with passion and dedication to choose a uni where everyone in it serves to fuel those things and build on you to make you thrive!!
Been in halls of residence for a year, facilities are good for all halls - excellent in some. SU is good for events but customer service isn't great in some areas.
Just finished my first year anf it has been an amazing experience
Nice place, nice people, but no character about the place.
I love this university, the only thing that needs improvement is the money given to sports clubs and to sports facilities, rowing in particular.
It's been a fantastic experience so far
Korean society drives the whole school and education.
It was a great experience at Warwick for my first year and I am really excited for my second year at that university. Met really hardworking people at this university and gives me more the reason to work harder.
The involvement in clubs and societies is daunting. I have attempted many but have never been accepted into any other than my academic society. The facilities are fantastic unless you are a humanities student as we are the bottom of the chain. Also, the library is unbearable in term 3 - rather than spend £80,000 on a pointless rebranding that I could have done myself, maybe they should try and make the library more accessible during the busy periods. Saying this however, my department has been incredible and have been attentive and responsive to any issues or questions I have raised. They take the time to go through things with me to enable me to understand what I need to be doing. For that alone id recommend Warwick.
Great University. I've got 5 internship offers and I reckon it has a lot to do with Warwick's reputation in the finance world.
I feel like it's my home and where I belong. Going to this university was the best decision I ever made.
A great environment and so much career support, also loads and loads of societies and things to do!
Money-grabbing beyond belief. Campus is a building site, every green space is being built on to accommodate more intl. student who pay higher fees while the VC earns half a million a year.
Beautiful campus, excellent courses.
Great university with interesting modules, fantastic career support and a wide range of activities to be involved in!
I got here by adjustment unintentionally and it was the best decision of my life. I love everything about the uni, the campus, the people, the extent of my course and the sport clubs are amazing.
The beautiful campus has everything you could possibly need within a 20 minute radius of all the main lecture theatres, including accommodation..... What more does a student want?! Oh there are also ducks.... A lot of them
Warwick is lively and vibrant university which boasts some of the best academics in the UK! with the perfect mix of a very good standard of education and a fun social side, Warwick is the perfect university!
Great first year experience, uni night life made only because of near by town. Career prospects are immense and the engineering course is very rewarding.
Overall good experience, I will miss Warwick.
Amazing university; can't imagine being so happy anywhere else!
Staff-student relations have been awful this year.
Warwick is diverse, busy and a wonderful place to be. Opportunities are plentiful, there's no such thing as boredom! The academic side of things (important at a uni, I guess) is outstanding. Warwick offers a high standard of education and a wonderful and helpful support system who are there for each and every student regardless of what the issue is. I couldn't be happier anywhere else.
