Large campus with lots of facilities, very friendly environment
At times, Eduroam is down which is annoying when trying to open lecture powerpoints.
Everything has been good except that the wifi has been a lite bad though
Big and lively campus always manage to find something to do.
The WiFi can be dodgy moving between different areas of campus. Love the whole community feel you get here as everyone seems to care and enjoy living or studying here
Great uni with lots of opportunities and things to do facilities are amazing and you can find something to do every day
It’s nice and social and the campus of easy to navigate for a first year student
Lecturers are amazing and so nice and buildings are very good
The university campus and facilities are very good and well-maintained. The student union is very active and provides a multitude of engaging events. The careers service is also very good as they send consistent updates on new opportunities. There were issues with the wifi at the start of the term but it has since improved.
Sometimes the wifi at the beginning of the semester has been a bit iffy, but was identified as a problem pretty early on
very good campus with a wide range of activities for everyone - both sporty and non sporty! facilities are top notch and the campus is open, green and spacious.
The experience has been okay so far, I have to comment the student union they are very active when it comes to to activities and how to keep everyone engaged
I have received lots of help from all the staff and they have been very helpful. They’ve helped me to feel welcome and even the committee with wifi issues etc
The student Union is so large and has everything you need. There are countless clubs and societies and perfect facilities to keep yourself entertained
Love the university site and all it has to offer. WiFi can sometimes be an issue but is getting better. Claudia parsons is in a great location for athletes and the rooms are high quality.
My Freshers’ experience at Loughborough has been an exciting and memorable start to university life. I took part in football and badminton trials, as well as trying out new taster sessions like boxing, pool, and pedal. These activities not only pushed me out of my comfort zone but also helped me fit into the vibrant Loughborough community and meet a lot of amazing friends along the way. The social side of Freshers’ was equally enjoyable — from parties to course-related events, I had the chance to connect with people both within my course and across different subjects, many of whom share similar interests. Joining societies has also been a great way to get involved; for instance, the Cantonese Society has given me a space to connect with people who share my cultural background.
A lot to do socially on campus
Great campus, with incredible facilities
The university has a lot of great facilities which aid your education. However, during lectures the internet isn't great which means that we can't access some of the resources online.
Studying at Loughborough university is truly great. You would come across many people with different experience and can also connect to them very quickly.
The campus is very big and full of exceptional facilities. The engineering department has amazing equipment and the gyms are very updated.
There's so much here for everyone, with clubs and societies, especially sports. In terms of courses, the resources are great, and the lecturers are really nice and knowledgeable on the whole. Some of the aspects of course structure definitely aren't for everybody, but I like the way we do things: it's challenging, but not so hard that you want to drop out or anything.
The university is very social and has lots of opportunities
Great uni easy to engage and learn
Great support available for all students
Bakewell is a way of life. The people are great, the warden team is very helpful, and the accommodation itself is almost magical
wifi has been very bad and we have recieved emails about it saying it will be fixed so hopefully it does get improved. Campus is probably the best in the UK compared tp every other i visited
There was some WiFi issues but they have been sorted, I have not yet heard much about careers advice but this may happen in future
Campus is nice, with great facilities
student union have lots of businesses in during the week for promotions which is a nice touch carrers run events but wifi has been unavailable for around 70% of my lectures
unstable wifi around the campus
The wifi isnt really working at the moment
The campus has everything. It’s the best one to study and enjoy social life
Amazing state of the art facilities, campus has everything you need and very easy to get about
So far I’ve loved Loughborough! 100% recommend this uni, they’re very attentive to your own individual experience and have a lot of services available for you to benefit from. Only downside is you have to find these services yourself, as they’re all separate and can’t be found in one area in-person or online. There’s an amazing range of sports, and it’s genuinely open to people of all abilities. I’ve tried out for 3 sports I’ve never played before in my life and made some friends already. Societies are good but sometimes disorganised as they struggle to find rooms within the university to host their events. Also, sports and societies can become a bit pricey when you want to do more than one, and if you want to compete. Downside to Loughborough is it’s impossible to get a job unless you apply before you get there or within the first week. As it’s a quiet area, there are barely any jobs and barely any available on campus, and as all students want a job they get taken up pretty quickly.
I would the clubs are great but you have to have been very good at the sport before joining or you won’t be able to play
It’s an amazing place to be and develop both as a person and athlete
Great sports facilities and environment within teams and groups. Student union is friendly and close
The WiFi has not been the greatest but the uni has world class facilities and the societies seem good
been good, and fun and nice and friendly
Amazing university so glad I decided to come here
Only been here for 2 years but thoroughly enjoying every moment of it!
Good university, love jc’s shame the wifi lets down the rating at the moment also please put more sockets in lecture rooms I don’t want the mac dying on me
the student union is amazing! great for night out or coffee dates with friends - theres lots to offer. also a beautiful campus with great facilities all round.
There are many options of things to do at Loughborough
Waiting on WiFi to be fixed . Societies are only about clubbing which is not for everyone
Lovely campus it’s easy to get to your lecturers don’t have to rely on travel which can be unreliable sometimes.
Lots of clubs and societies, as well as sports. Nice campus and facilities.
It has been a great first few weeks, very welcoming and enjoyable. Especially the night events and the sports clubs.
I’m having a great time. I think the university is well managed.
Shocking WIFI, drops in and out all the time. This makes checking into lectures; or opening lecture content very difficult. Not mush interaction with eh careers service, but they send out weekly emails, which is nice to know they are there Many clubs. They are very welcoming and taster sessions allow you to give it a go, without committing to it
Good mostly, WiFi is on and off and I struggle to connect sometimes
Overall Good experience. Fast response to maintenance issues, with someone coming in to fix issues on the same or next day, friendly hub team.
Lovely campus with lots of modern facilities. Safe environment to walk around and it’s easy to get from place to place on campus. Lots of different fun and interesting societies to have a look at and try.
Good university with a great campus feel where everything is accessible
The wifi connection is really bad during the days but university facilities and campus is really good
Sometimes the wifi turn off and turn on, but overall the wifi is crazy fast.
WiFi across all of campus can cut out or not work at times. There is also almost no mobile signal across all of campus for texts or mobile data.
Staff are rude especially JP warden
Frequent activities going on in and around the students union keeps it fresh, the place is always buzzing and it's a really nice space to be in whether to chill, gang out with friends or even to study, the facilities at loughborough are top notch and the uni is very good at its sustainability values. There are a lot of societies to join with lots of helpful, warm and welcoming people so fitting in isn't a worry as there really is a place for all.
Very good standards of teaching and great social aspect.
The campus is nice with lots of sports facilities. There’s loads of clubs and societies to get involved with but the WiFi on campus is unstable
Student Union is amazing. Staff are helpful and supportive. Facilities are amazing
Good experience overall so far.
Great University with lots of opportunities
Great sporting experience and facilities
I love it here, I’ve met many lovely people and the cheap societies are extremely fun and ranged. I wish the library was bigger or there was a second one though
the student union is nice, but wifi could be better
Nice campus with plenty of sports and activities to do while studying at a high level
Lots of societies to join and really good help with careered service
A uni with so much to do no matter what your interest is
Haven’t experienced career service yet but student union, sports and societies seem very welcoming.
I love the loughborough university campus. I love the aesthetic and well kept appearance and atmosphere, which makes me happy and so proud to live here. I worked really hard to ensure that I made it to loughborough, and i’m so happy that the university campus lives up to its name.
great sense of community with a plethora of activities to suit everyone
Could be better could be worse. Overall decent.
Lots of activities and sport happening around the uni but issues with the wifi are occurring across campus
Good everything close / feels very homely and really good facilities
Very poor wifi unable to use in lectures and trouble with it in halls doesn’t seem to be getting fixed soon
Love the campus and uni but the WiFi is not good
There’s a wide range of services and oppportunities provided by the university.
WiFi was difficult to connect at first but when sorted worked perfectly fine around campus. The facilities at Loughborough are outstanding on the whole.
A great uni with an amazing campus and a strong community feel.
The campus facilities at Loughborough University are outstanding! The library is spacious and well-equipped, making it easy to study. The student union is vibrant, hosting a variety of events and offering great food options. The clubs and societies are diverse, providing countless opportunities to meet new people and explore interests. Overall, the campus atmosphere is energetic and supportive—perfect for any student!
Campus/ facilities got nothing to complain about and all the lecturers seem genuinely intrigued in what they've got to teach. "Learn" is very confusing to use. Clubs and societies for the amount of sporty people feels like it is adequate, but the lack of societies is very prevalent. The student union is great, regular events, free stuff and loads to get involved in. The career service I haven't actually used yet but their is multiple events on my calendar for networking. The Internet/ Wifi was generally awful but they are trying to fix it, but it resulted in not being able to sign into lectures and also only being able to access "Learn" 30 minutes into the lecture.
Really well organised and advertised
Great campus and so many clubs!!
A lot of events in the SU. WiFi is kinda mid since it’s the beginning of term
everything is really good i like it
very nice so far, i wish the internet would work better in other parts of campus though
Good people and great community feeling
Great university . A place for everyone
Very good facilities, campus is very accessible and student union has plenty to offer. WIFI needs sorting. I’ve tried to submit this review many times and has not worked.
Couldn’t ask for a place better then Robert bakewell
Lovely campus with lots of green space and great student union club nights!
Good vibe around Loughborough, everything is in walking distance.
The campus has a friendly feel to it and there are plenty of clubs and societies to get involved in.
University has to much to offer from sports, societies, cafés and social spaces.
Campus is great, but lecture theatres need improvement in my opinion. There's not nearly enough bandwidth in the lecture theatres to support all the device's on the networks. Also, in most there's nowhere to charge devices, which is a problem when some days I have 8 hours of lectures. Visibility, recording system and everything else are all great though.
Good and easily accessible facilities- lots of advertisement for clubs and societies for everyone to get involved. Also a range of activities that are non-sport related for recreational activities
WiFi really is hit and miss and actually a problem
