Good support from every part. Lots of events for international students. Comprehensive websites and supports for career.
The university campus is huge and so beautiful! There are many great study spots, and there are microwaves in many spaces for you to heat up your food. There are many places to eat as well.
The experience at university was great. I had the chance to make many international friends, and the teachers and staff were amazing. The lecturers really knew what they were doing, and the facilities were modern and well-equipped.
really good, really good location and very sociable lovely staff and great rooms
Great engineering school, with good student facilities
nice uni with nice facilities. excellent
Great accommodation just moved in so far soo good.
Love it so lovely go UoB my favourite
Amazing Experience Already! Even though I’ve only been at the University of Birmingham for two weeks, I’m genuinely impressed. The campus is modern with excellent facilities and interactive classrooms. The teaching style is engaging, and the staff are very supportive. What I love most is the career support—there are constant workshops, networking events and guidance that make you feel future-ready. Student life is vibrant with lots of activities and societies, and the campus feels safe and welcoming to walk around. Overall, it’s a perfect combination of strong academics, opportunities, and community. I’m really proud to be part of UoB!
no enough experience,I just arrive uk
Choosing this university was a great decision, mainly because of its excellent facilities and teaching staff. Everything is conveniently integrated into one large, beautiful campus area. The library, in particular, is more than adequate and a truly pleasant place to study. I especially appreciate that if I ever get tired of studying in one spot, there are always so many other great places around to work on assignments or just read. The campus is also ideally located, with easy access to shopping centers and student accommodation, which makes daily life incredibly simple and convenient. However, a word of caution for those seeking a specific aesthetic: if you are dreaming of a classic, historic UK university experience—the kind you see in Harry Potter or period films—then this might not be the right fit. The campus leans towards a modern architectural style, and the city center itself feels very different compared to many other traditional UK cities.
The university offers many facilities and services, but there are certain problems like the walking distance to some building from outer roads and due to the amount of floors of some buildings, there are lifts installed however these sometimes don't work. The university is overall good as it has many study spaces and it needs getting used to due to its size.
The University of Birmingham provides excellent career opportunities and have amazing partnerships with external companies, which is important when studying a Master's course
The uni is really good overall and its extremely helpful and calm around here
This campus is very good, I like it
Welcome to true apartment! Okay!
Honestly UOB IS THE BEST! As a Londoner it’s helping me fall in love with Birmingham and all the facilities it has to offer is a bonus in every way!
The experience in University of Birmingham is nice. Great people, very supportive services.
The school environment is very beautiful and all the teachers are very friendly.
Nice campus good friendly staff
Such a pretty university with so much to do which you wouldn’t even know about unless you came here, such as the library, the market stalls every month, the food, the masssive library and sm places to chill out.
i’ve had a good experience here so far
Great campus and social experience
Wonderful place ,best professors, diversity of culture and you have many options to learn ,campuses ,social activities ,sports to make you engaged and fruitful.
The University is beautiful - for an urban campus, there is no lack of green space. It mixes a grand landscape with plenty of walkability, open and green spaces and fast movement between lectures. There is never a shortage of study space - I can always find somewhere to study or work. The University of Birmingham, with its own railway station, is perfect for commuters with services back home every 30 minutes. The course I study is amazing, unique and one I didn't think I would be interested in until I started it. Birmingham as a city may have negative connotations, but the University is a shining star and a great example of when a university goes right. The lecturers at UoB are skilled in their fields and know what they are talking about. It is clear they are passionate about their subject. Overall, I have always wanted to go to UoB, and I find my reasons even more viable now that I am here.
Lovely place to stay! The staff are always kind and responsive, the rooms are modern and comfortable, and the location is very convenient for university life.
Excellent academics, diverse programs, and a focus on student success. Where learning is fun, friendships are made, and potential is unleashed. A school that truly prepares students for a bright and successful future.
Studying at the University of Birmingham has been such a great experience! The campus is beautiful, the lecturers are supportive, and there are so many opportunities to grow academically and personally. Truly an amazing place!
The experience of living here is very good. The staff's service attitude is very patient. There are also various activities to participate in, and the room is also very comfortable.
Birmingham City University is an excellent place to study. The campus is modern and vibrant, the teachers are supportive and professional, and the learning environment is inspiring. I’ve gained so much knowledge and experience here — truly a great university!
I love this university. First of all, its campus is really large, with complete facilities, and the teachers are also very kind. I feel very comfortable in it.
very good university very good learning environment!i love university of Birmingham
Great good absolutely amazing fantastic
I love the life here. I think the experience is very different
The overall environmental is very good and welcoming for international students. Wifi needs little bit improvement. Would also appreciate more if they had a restricted smoking zone.
seems like a good university..
The University of Birmingham is highly ranked for research, diverse campus life, and strong academic support.
Everything is great! Nothing to complain about.
The lectures so far have been very enjoyable and interesting as the lecturers are passionate about their subject, the campus is a nice mix of old and new architecture, which is really pretty and makes a 9-5 on campus a lot easier. There are lots of study spaces available throughout the university, as well as food stalls and coffee shops. Everyone I have met so far has been lovely and easy to talk to, which quickly soothed my nerves about not knowing anybody when I first started. There is always something going on, whether a night out or a pottery class, there is so much to do on top of studying, and the majority of societies and clubs available are accessible to all, making it really easy to meet new people or find a new hobby. Only negatives are the campus can be difficult to navigate to start with as it is quite large, but does become easier using the campus map, and eduroam (WiFi on campus) can be slow and crash at times, but normally is fixed quite quickly.
Great campus and very welcoming staff who are there for any query
As a international student from Canada, this university has it all. I am beyond impressed with the student support, community and socieites that are there for students. The campus it self is amazing and very accessible to get around.
Good induction, helpful staff and students, good environment. The campus is beautiful and has everything you need. There are loads of social opportunities as well as study skills, careers advice etc. Lots of opportunities. Lectures have been great and course material, library extensive. Disabled student service also really good
Supportive staff, lots of activities particularly good if you’re into sport. Very green and aesthetic campus.
The campus is lovely and green, with lots of great facilities. There’s over 300 societies so there’s something for everyone, however the sports clubs can be fairly expensive.
Great University with modern facilities - everything that you need is on campus
I just started as a master's in advanced computer science student at UOB .My experience so far has been great. The conduction of welcome week event made me smoothe myself to the new university, environment, friends.
Beautiful campus, great co curricular, great career opportunities.
First of all, Wow. I can’t even count how many times I’ve stopped to take a picture on campus. There’s always something beautiful or interesting to capture; it’s such a picture-perfect place. The clubs and societies are incredibly engaging and interactive, trust me, if you join the right one, you’ll never be bored. The Guild of Students is also amazing. They’re active, involved, and genuinely connected to students. It’s rare to see a student union so responsive, they actually use emails like it’s their lifeline (and I love that!). The campus Wi-Fi is generally great too. Sure, there are a few spots with weaker connection, but overall, it’s been reliable and easy to use. My experience thus far has been 10/10.
This is such a beautiful campus. The accessibility to students and availability of services is incredible. Each building has a story, and there are plenty of places to hangout with friends, study, or just enjoy time to yourself
Heyy Guys, i am a current postgraduate student of Msc Advanced Engineering Management just wanted to say this is just so dreamy university anyone could study in. Excellent in everything and so familiar atmosphere in and out the University.
The university of Birmingham has amazing facilities, from high tech gyms, to amazing laboratories, to a set of real railway points. The campus looks wonderful and it’s very easy to get around. The library is huge.
Love the university. Would recommend
great uni i love it. so much support available too
I loved my time here, no complaints
Love the uni so much I’ve met so many incredible people and had nights I won’t soon forget
Staff in reception are easily approachable and helpful. The location of this accommodation is great having good connections to local amenities. Only negative would be the service within the building making studying and working difficult
I’m currently staying at the metal works accommodation in Birmingham which has been brilliant so far especially thanks to the extremely helpful receptions workers Katie and Taylor
This university is a great place to study, They have plenty of facilities to help you with your studies and your career. There are plenty of societies to choose from and people are very welcoming here. It's easy to make friends and the campus as a whole is very diverse. You will not feel left out.
University campus is wonderful and many lovely aspects of the courses and extracurriculars. This is undershadowed by the fact that the University Chancellor is terrible to pro Palestine students and lies about IDF soldiers being hosted at society events.
I have had a great experience at UoB over the last four years. Really social and buzzing campus life with lots going on! Good services in general. I am nearing the end of my Masters course now, and I just would've loved to have a bit more a push in terms of career help and employability, but really that is my only complaint. Have really loved my time here and recommend it.
I have a deep affection for my university campus, which I consider a serene yet vibrant paradise for learning. What I adore most is undoubtedly the library. The atmosphere for studying there is incredibly intense. The moment you step inside, you are immediately embraced by an aura of focus and tranquility. Whether it's the spacious and bright open study areas or the private and quiet research rooms, the excellent facilities always cater to the diverse needs of every student. In there, the only sounds are the gentle rustling of pages turning and the subtle scratching of pens on paper—an environment that significantly boosts my concentration and productivity. The campus itself is beautiful throughout the year, but it possesses a unique charm on snowy days. When snowflakes flutter down, the entire campus is draped in a pure white blanket. The red bricks of the classic buildings contrast beautifully with the white snow, while the bare tree branches, adorned with crystalline snow, resemble
Studying at the University of Birmingham has been the best experience over the past 2 years. The technological facilities are almost always easy to use, and the students are so kind to help out if anyone is struggling with IT-related issues. There is a broad range of societies where each club are so welcoming and holds regular events where anyone can participate/ spectate. The careers service is excellent, where individual in-person or online meetings can be booked so easily. The careers advisers are very attentive and make the atmosphere comfortable to talk openly about future plans. The university's internet can be temperamental and is sometimes fixed quickly (within 30 minutes). However, around campus, there are buildings where the internet connection is very low and can hinder telephone communication.
The university has been an amazing place for me to grow both academically and socially. I have been able to develop so much as a person thanks to the university
When I first came here, people helped me with any areas of my life, inspiring me to be a kind person to the world. Now I learned how to develop academic skills, and earned friends for lifelong. Thanks UoB for the precious opportunity to let me grow in such a diverse environment.
As a Chinese student studying in the UK, living at Pavilion has truly been a heartwarming experience. Over the past year, Daniel at the front desk has been incredibly kind and helpful—whether printing documents for free or taking time to explain things to me with endless patience. Once, he even stayed after hours to fix my fridge and accidentally cut his hand in the process. On another occasion, he came in early to unblock a drain. His friendly smile, and warm greetings always made me feel at home. The entire Pavilion team is thoughtful and respectful—they never enter rooms without notice and even rescheduled maintenance time when I wasn’t feeling well. We often receive little gifts and festive surprises, and the facilities are excellent: reliable heating and hot water year-round, fast internet, and a fun common room. Cooking my favourite meals, watching TV, and relaxing here has made my student life both comfortable and fulfilling.
I highly recommend the Pavilion apartment in Birmingham! It has an excellent location, with both the train and bus services directly connecting to the university and the city center. You can walk to the large supermarket Morrisons and the gym. The apartment environment is quiet and clean, and each room is equipped with a desk and chair. There is a common entertainment room, which is perfect for relaxation and socializing. The apartment has its own laundry room and a package collection service. The benefits are particularly considerate: there is free Chinese food during the Spring Festival, and various surprise benefits on different festivals. Sometimes free drinks are also distributed. The front desk staff are very friendly and provide excellent service, making you feel at ease and comfortable living here. Whether it's the location, the environment or the service, Pavilion is a very worthy choice for student accommodation in Birmingham.
Good university all the staff are very supportive
✨I’ve been living in a 1B unit for almost a year as a UoB postgraduate. It’s cozy, quiet, and feels like home. ✅ Private kitchen, no cooking smell The kitchen is completely separate — perfect for cooking without the whole room smelling. Equipped with fridge, oven, and strong extractor fan. ✅ Spacious and private You get a living room with a sofa and beanbag — ideal for relaxing or having friends over. It’s so comfortable after a long day study. ✅ Prime location Close to supermarket, restaurant and Fiveways station. Buses X21/X22 to UoB stop right outside; walking takes 20 minutes. ✅ Secure and convenient Double-door entry, 24/7 CCTV, and helpful reception. There’s a common room, garden, and affordable laundry room. ✅ Comfortable all year Warm in winter, not hot in summer. Bright, quiet, and perfect for focused study or relaxing after class. 🎯 Summary: If you want privacy, space, and your own kitchen, the 1B at The Pavilion is a great choice. Apply early — this layout goes fast!
The campus is absolutely gorgeous but if you do anything humanities generally you will be walking around campus instead of staying inside the arts building like advertised be prepared and bring comfy shoes aha!
Good service and wifi Good service and wifi
Everything is okay; the wifi sometimes does not work well.
I really like the University they provide so much
Good course, decent lectures, interesting content
good uni experience, campus is very pretty
Best uni ever, so glad I picked Brum
This year was really fun and informal in any ways and i have a chance to do so many things thanks to University of Birmingham
Highly recommended to live here.
It’s very good I enjoyed my year abroad in the UK
Good university, and good study spaces however some study spaces don't have plugs for devices, but thats only a few most do thankfully.
Amazing university first year was amazing.
Great. Enough resources to understand my module. Social events are good too.
Highly experienced faculty at the School of Engineering.
Again it was positive. Sometimes not much engagement
Wow, I love my university so much! Campus is so beautiful. I love how all the time there is some event going on!
Perfect facilities and very open environment
I've really enjoyed my time at the University of Birmingham! I love the campus and I've had so much fun meeting new people. Equally, these may have been the most stressful 4 years of my life, but it's been worth it. I would definitely pick studying at the University of Birmingham again.
Such an amazing uni with the perfect facilities for both academic and social needs!
I love the campus and have had a lot of really useful advise from the careers team. Some of the lectures aren't very good and I dislike how much weighting each component is towards my grade, but other than that, I love my uni!
Great campus with lovely red brick buildings. So many study spaces on campus and lovely place to walk around, especially in summer.
A experience that can never be repeated from our time in near future, this university allows u too explore your potential and awakes you to learning the meaning of taking ownership of responsibility and learning newer things everyday. I think i have developed so much as person and gained the right skills to help me promote myself for professional relations and interpersonal skills. I see a light that lit up from finishing in end and I now have new way to approach the world. I have goal to achieve so does everyone the legacy to leave but lastly to cherish my shared help from this university.
UOB's campus is beautiful. There are a variety of study spaces to accommodate your study needs (whether you want a silent solo study place, or a group study area to share snacks and ideas). Most study spaces have power outlets and the wifi connection is generally great across the uni. The careers service at UOB are really active with emails, but they could do with hosting more in-person events.
This school provides a supportive environment, dedicated teachers, and a strong academic foundation. It encourages growth, creativity, and responsibility, making it a great place for learning and development.
Overall, a very nice and aesthetic campus to be around on, the layout of the buildings is very efficient, helping students to locate study spots easily!
I have absolutely no regrets about choosing UoB for my BA. I love the atmosphere here; the students and staff are so friendly, and the campus is really pretty and well-equipped too. I am loving my course, and my time here so far. The careers service is also stunning. I'm first year, and already, I have been able to set up shadowing an interpreter in the European Commission in Brussels, thanks to talks organised and advertised by the careers service. I work for the university too, which helps to build my CV and is part of the careers service too, I suppose.
Studying at the University of Birmingham has been a truly enriching experience. The university combines academic excellence with a vibrant and supportive campus environment. I’ve been particularly impressed by the quality of teaching, the accessibility of world-class research facilities, and the dedication of staff who are genuinely committed to helping students succeed. The fast-paced and intellectually stimulating courses have challenged me to grow quickly and have significantly broadened my knowledge and skill set. At the same time, the diverse student community and wide range of extracurricular opportunities make it a great place to grow both academically and personally. The campus itself is beautiful and well-equipped, with a strong sense of tradition yet a forward-looking attitude. Overall, the University of Birmingham fosters intellectual curiosity, encourages critical thinking, and provides a solid foundation for future success.
quite a good university overall
everything seems thought about.
It is such a stunning campus with an inclusive and welcoming environment. Everything is right where you need it. There are so many opportunities both curricular and extra-curricular to explore or find your passions.
A very good university overall, would definitely recommend
The campus has beautiful facilities and a range of study spaces that are accessible to students. The library is a particular highlight, with a brilliant range of books and lots of study spots. During the warmer months, the campus is filled with students enjoying the green spaces outdoors. The campus feel of the overall university also creates a really homely feel, with lots of familiar faces within a close proximity. I feel supported and comfortable at the University of Birmingham. That said, the quality of teaching is not always reliable, with some lecturers who are more charismatic and engaging than others. The range of topics available to study, particular on the extremely broad Liberal Arts and Sciences course, is great and has allowed me to explore a variety of subjects and topics that lecturers are enthused to teach.
