Great people and facilities
Great for all different types of people
Overall good experience, warden service was helpful. Cleaning and laundry teams were very good. The kitchens could be more equipped, however they were suitable.
Best halls at Harper, fantastic place to socialise and make mates
The halls have no social area
Decent halls, good social experience
Accommodation is £5500 but you get evening meals on Mondays and Wednesdays. A little expensive really but not as dear as some places. I gave the location 4/5 as its not ideal being at Queen's campus which is an hour away on the bus or 40 mins by car from Durham. This makes it difficult to join any societies in Durham but it is possible as long as you leave time for travelling. But on the campus it's in a far better location to the other college. It's a 1 minute walk from the gym, and 3 minutes from the furthest teaching building. Teeside shopping centre has a big Morrisons and is only a 20 minute walk away. The blocks are arranged in a circle around the JCR so it's only a 10 metre walk from the front door of your block to the JCR which gives the college a really good sense of community. The JCR is constantly being upgraded and the reps organise good nights out and events. The welfare team is really good and in terms of committees and events it's probably the best run college in Durham!
